The things about Kavaugh that bother me have nothing to do with Ford. When Bush appointed him, he was a law clerk. He was not qualified for the job. He has never argued in front of a court. And then he has said he thinks a president is above the law and cannot be indicted, no matter what he does, while in office. That would set a dangerous precedent. What if the court had been full of people with that opinion when Nixon was in office? And it is pretty sure that he lied about his drinking while under oath. Why not admit you drank too much as a teen, hell we all did.

It doesn't bother you that any president can not be charged for a crime according to Kavanugh?
He didn't say that he couldn't be charged with a crime. His issue is not inditing a sitting president while in office. This is from hav and Ernesto's links.

"...he says Congress should pass legislation to ensure the president is immune from civil and criminal proceedings while in office."

My own take is that a president could be charged after leaving office. A lengthy trial would not be good for any president while in office.

"But Kavanaugh’s articles from 1998 and 2009 are no smoking-gun evidence that he would vote to dismiss an indictment against Trump, should one ever be filed. Although he clearly believes it’s a bad idea to indict a sitting president, Kavanaugh never states his view whether the Constitution allows it. In fact, he says Congress should pass legislation to ensure the president is immune from civil and criminal proceedings while in office. As Feldman writes, Kavanaugh’s 2009 article can be read as a signal that he might uphold a presidential indictment unless Congress changes the law.

We don’t mean to split hairs by analyzing whether Kavanaugh believes something “can’t” or “shouldn’t” happen, but in the legal arena, this distinction matters. Kavanaugh’s stated views on this question don’t go as far as Fallon, Maloney and Ocasio-Cortez claimed. Their tweets merit Two Pinocchios, although we considered giving Three. To say Kavanaugh is Trump’s “get-out-of-jail free card” is an extreme distortion of what he’s written. "

...and what about North Korea? It may take 2, 3, 5, or 10 years. ....not that anything is even slightly set in stone yet, but......
.........name for me just one other president that's accomplished any constructive dialogue with North Korea? Trump did this by calling the little Rocket Man's bluff. Worked didn't it??? You don't rule by being submissive!
I can't wait to see what he going to accomplish in his second term, not to mention owning both the house and senate.
I think the Democrats new slogan will be:
"We so angry because we don't have a clue"
After the next election, the slogan will be. "You want fries with that" :D
Liberals think that 95% of voters believe they way they do. In reality, .............they lost the election because they believed in the media (fake news)
..."fake news" ...... the guy who coined that term ought to get an award. :D

My largest political issues or concerns are that the parties are so far apart that its not possible for a meeting of the minds. We're gonna be socialists or capitalists after the next Presidential election.

A man was being tailgated by a stressed out woman on a busy boulevard. Suddenly, the light turned yellow, just in front of him. He did the right thing, stopping... at the crosswalk, even though he could have beaten The red light by accelerating through the intersection.

The tailgating woman was furious and honked her horn, screaming in frustration as she missed her chance to get through the intersection, dropping her cell phone and makeup.

As she was still in mid-rant, she heard a tap on her window and looked up into the face of a very serious police officer. The officer ordered her to exit her car with her hands up. He took her to the police station where she was searched, finger printed, photographed, and placed in a hold ing cell. After a couple of hours, a policeman approached the cell and opened the door. She was escorted back to the booking desk where the arresting officer was waiting with her personal effects.

He said, "I'm very sorry for this mistake. You see, I pulled up behind your car while you were blowing your horn, flipping off the guy in front of you, and cussing a blue streak at him. I noticed the 'What Would Jesus Do' bumper sticker, the 'Choose Life' license plate holder, the 'Follow Me to Sunday-School' bumper sticker, and the chrome-plated Christian fish emblem on the trunk, Naturally... I assumed you had stolen the car."
