I just finished taking my youngest son to Madison Wisconsin for med school. Drove 3500 miles through corn and more corn fields.
Had to check every states gun laws on the way up and back.
We really need states to buckle up and the feds too and get some sort of universal gun laws. Its ridiculous.

AZ STOP Order.
So now our AZ republican Gov. Doug Ducey is calling Red Flag order a Stop Order - Severe Threat Order of Protection. It got shot down twice already but he just keeps on with it.
Shame on him. Never really thought much of the guy, an ice cream shop owner who screwed his partners as rumor has it.

Finally commonsense gun laws

Texas relaxed gun laws after recent mass shootings

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — After dozens of people, including toddlers and teenagers, were gunned down in separate mass shootings at a church Sutherland Springs and a high school in suburban Houston, Texas Republicans came to the Capitol this year with their eyes on new gun laws.

The goal was not to limit access to weapons or ban assault-style rifles, but to expand gun rights. After a pro-gun legislative session applauded by the National Rifle Association, Republican Gov. Greg Abbott signed new laws that eased restrictions on where firearms can be carried, from schools to churches, apartments and foster homes, and barred cities from passing their own gun and ammunition sales limits.

Ted Cruz was on ABC's This Week yesterday talking about gun control.

Quote:
"Now, the question is what do we need to do that actually works? And this is where I get frustrated with Democratic politicians in Washington," he added. "Because the proposals they're putting forward would not have stopped a single one of these mass murders."
Quote:
Cruz instead argued for the proposal he first introduced in 2013 with Sen. Chuck Grassley, which the two re-introduced in May. While it doesn't enact universal background checks, the legislation aims to strengthen the current system by prosecuting those with a criminal history who lie on background check forms and criminalizing straw purchases.

Both of those are already federal crimes. Ted's an idiot.

The AR-15 was designed as a civilian rifle. It was a civilian weapon before it was ever modified for military use. There is nothing especially lethal about the 5.56NATO/.223 cartridge it (typically) fires.
