Afternoon on the dunes, many winters ago. On my screen they come out a little dark, but the contrast was hard to deal with.

You using Adobe Photoshop Hi? If not i can send you a copy .;)

The contrast issue is called Kodachrome........... if highlights are washed out or the darks are to black, then there's no information to be recovered. I should have used split ND filters. I got two PS's a 5 and a 5.0. Old programs, but they can do way more than I'd ever know how to do.

Here's a fun one from 1991. This heron had a nest near this particular beach. I used to go out there a lot if the tide was low and the wind wasn't blowing. The heron would often be just offshore looking for a small fishy for dinner. Being the sun had set, the heron blended in with the dark rocks out in the water. This image is his actually his reflection in the still water. I flipped it upside down, then and gave it a tweak or two.

You should be making a living with photography.
Wish there was a way to do that. The organizational and digital/technical skills required in a true business sense aren't part of my brain wiring. I've been good at the "snapping" end of the process and the tinkering process using Photoshop......... but that's where it ends. I keep thinking abut it.

Here's those last two images combined and tweaked so the colors are more closely matched. I made two versions, not sure which I like better.

I zoomed in and I think he found a crab, Jon......... outa my range right now. ;)

Thanks Rusty.
Tho I'm really happy with it, I'm getting obsessed with making it better. I am finding it really difficult to improve an accident. Been spending all day trying to make the colors in both slide scans come out with the same blacks and the same gold. I'm learning something in the process......... not sure just what.
Is OCD spelled in caps or lower case? I think caps, but what font? I'm thinking comic Sans MS in bold type :D
