I've been messin' / tweakin' with my recent waterfall photos and man is it a pain deciding the best post-scan corrections so the images all look the same..... Meaning color contrast and brightness. You digital guys have it easy.

North Fork falls on the left and Lower Kentucky Falls on the right.

I'll have to look up the date on this one....... '94 to '98 because the truck isn't rusty yet. ;)
This is at the trail head leading up to the Hippy on the Rock image. Had to be December to March, as the elevation here is 3200' or thereabouts. Not all that high, but if it snows, these logging roads on the north side of the hills rarely clear even with a few weeks of nice weather. I always felt lucky if I could make it up this high when I ventured into the hills in the winter.
The location is 65/70 miles from home. 60 miles this direction is still below 700 feet elevation, so I never knew until I drove up this way what was going to limit my travels in a particular weekend. I miss those old weekend ventures.

I was going through my slides Yesterday. Close inspection with a I spied a relic from the past that was trapped in the box between slides. It was probably 1/16" "antennae to feet and preserved pretty good. The box of slides hadn't been opened for a loooooong time.
I scanned the small guy and enlarged him. Then I got into my Photoshop zone and made him into something more fun to look at. :D

I am used to correcting color issues, but not much could be done with this little fella......... so I went the opposite direction to see how much I could screw it up. Screwed up came out a lot more interesting. :D

That hippy was on that rock way up there. That's where the photo was taken, Jon. This view of 'the rock' was taken from a few air miles away..... about 15 road miles. I'd estimate from the lower part of the image up to the rock is around 1000 feet. No, I didn't have to scale the rock using ropes........ I find that the trail is much less dangerous. ;)

I edited while you typed, Jon. I walked up the trail from the other side of the rock............. it's a lazy 20 minute uphill hike to the rock from the trail head.

Looks like Gods Country .
My Grandma once asked me if I go to church often. (I only go there for weddings and funerals) I told her with my work schedule, this is where I go to church...... not necessarily to this single location, just up in the hills.
These flower photos were taken up at the rock in July of '92 along with the Hippy on the Rock photo above. In the first photo, the sunlight was early morning and the sun hit just the tips of the blooms. This was Kodachrome slide film's only problem. The film couldn't handle darks and brights at the same time. You had to set the proper exposure for one or the other.

This would have be a neat time to have had location and time stamp on the image...... Same box as the rock and flowers, July '92, so I know approximately where I took the photo from. It was obviously a high perch to look down on the clouds or fog rolling in. I'm gonna guess it was late afternoon.

This woulda been August of '97 in the central part of the state. It's desert area and I went there to watch the August Perseid meteor shower. There's no fog, just clear skies up there at night.
Power to the people.
