This was March of 94 on one of my excursions. Locally we have a lot of alder trees, but up in them thar hills there are a few birch trees scattered about. They are found more in the higher elevations. This was about 140 miles south of where I live.

Bought my Makita table saw, palm sander, belt sander and chop saw here. Really nice older couple owned it. The fire was in '92 and it never reopened.

My first trip to Vulcan Lake. It was in November and the colors were pretty neat. The small lake is crystal clear and in the 6 or so trips up there over the years, I only saw 3 people......... A mother, father and young daughter hiking in as I was heading out.
This is a neat little area about 4000 feet elevation 35 miles east of Brookings, Oregon. I think the previous image of the Birch trees is along the road heading to this lake.

The only reason I knew what it was was we had our car seviced and the guy didn't tighten the oil plug up and it left those spots in the road in front of my house into my driveway just after a slight rain. Took the car back to the dealership and the plug fell on the ground in front of their doors.

I moved this cross and hung it randomly in the hall, the light through the arch at night perfectly picture frames it. Strange, very strange. Must be a message.
