It is. Grandpa took a lot of family photos over the years and I have them now. I wish there were more from that trip of the river scenes. In the top photo, that freshly logged side is right above the city of Gold Beach. By now, the trees on that hill are probably 60 feet tall.

In the summer, you can feel a temperature change of 10 or more degrees by just driving a few miles up the river from the town. The small community of Agness is about 35 miles from the coast and that's where we took our boat ride.
