I'm not a facebooker either.
Local conversations there make me "barfing"
Conversations are like:

Did you see all the flashing lights by McKays Market?

Yeah, I saw them too

Where at?

Coos Bay.

Were they police lights?

I didn't see them, but I heard them.

I bet it was meth heads.

It was the fire department.

There's a house fire.

Where?

I'm not sure.

.............that's why I don't do Facebook. The intelligence level is just too overwhelming. 😁
I just pop in now and then. My nephew sells cars and posts photos and thank you messages to his customers, so I check him out, then occasionally read a few "overwhelming" comments and leave. 🤣

Everybody knows the comment section is where it’s at.

I've been watching videos of the LA fire.....
Of the charts intensity. It's like pointing a leaf blower into a burn barrel. How is this ever going to get rebuilt?
Re-build One home at a time for 20 years, but only after bipartisan agreement on infrastructure that mitigates risk and financial funding for managing forests. Hey ! Maybe the indigenous people and leaders would do it for nothing 🤔 ….Would we want politicians telling us how to install Carpets and Flooring ? NO ! …. Indigenous people are by their very nature, in tune with nature 😉 Let’s make the intelligent decision to empower them with that responsibility.

If we can’t mitigate the risk due to financial burden, Then the land may need to be claimed as managed forest land. The two groups must meet in a figuratively locked room. Until they come to a bipartisan agreement. Only feed them peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with goat breast milk. 😜 With the goats on site and the members taking turns to squeeze 😜

We are at a point in our society with social media and regular media, creating content that divides and who is going to conquer because that’s what comes after division, divide and conquer. So! the only way we can make this happen is to actually force it to happen, by choosing an equal amount of members from both parties to meet together and come up with a bipartisan plan. It may get ugly in that room, but no cameras no interviews before or after are allowed. The group meets, does their thing, and failure to compromise is not an option. Once they leave the meeting, the compromised answer is delivered to the people by independent media source. No interviews about the process are allowed. No front stories or back stories. Peace on earth goodwill towards men, women and children, hallelujah amen…..

Make Americans Great Again 🤔 then MAYBE 🤔 America can be great again by IMPROVING TODAY FROM YESTERDAY

🤞✌️

Maybe have rock gardens and cactus like Arizona instead of of trees and dry brush.
I'm sure new construction will have different rules on landscaping and construction materials. These homes and "mansions" weren't built recently. James Woods home looked like old school T-1-11 exterior from the mid 60's or 70's some might have been older.
On the hills, they'll need vegetation to prevent landslides, but what kind? Something that can be maintained to some degree to prevent the intensity of the fires?
Annual controlled burns? Uninsured plots of land may be vacated or combined into larger properties so that there will be less homes and structures? It's gonna take some thinking.
Nothing to be lost playing the blame game if it points out known problems that were ignored, because that will make change happen.

Elaborate on that idea a little more I’m slightly confused of the intended message. Thanks.
If I blame Newsome for his failures, like saving a non native fish and removing dams that could assist during wildfires and provide water to farmers and recreational uses simply so he feels good and "projects" himself as a warm and comforting human being...... Then smack him with any blame it takes to toss him out of office. Blame and ridicule can stop people from being reelected...... or like Trudeau, to announce his early departure.
Nobody from the governor to the mayor to the head of the fire department has bragged about reducing fire damage by replacing antiquated water lines, adding more pumping capacity, more fire hydrants, more water towers or reservoirs. They don't brag about more and better fire trucks or hiring more firefighters. They've bragged about cutting 17 mil from the fire budget. How about cutting 100 million from housing illegal immigrants in hotels an motels and INCREASING money budgeted for the fire department?
......ooops, now I'm a racist. 🙄
They brag about diversity equity and inclusion. They brag about saving that smolt or smelt fishy. Have they even seen one in the past 10 years?
They tore down perfectly functioning dams that provides water for farmers, tourism, recreation including fisherman, plus water control and especially important a water supply for fire suppression.
LA was a near uninhabitable desert converted into something it was never meant to be. Water and firefighting ought to be the number one priority.
I think the fire department was paying their DEI head $399,000 per year?
They want the right percentage of colors for employees, the right number of women. A certain percentage of gay, lesbian and trans..... and the rest of the alphabet.
Tell ya what. I could easily cut $399,000 from their budget and replace that department with a few thousand signs throughout the other departments that say:
"Be nice to each other or we'll fire your sorry ass"
Now, hire 10,000 weight lifters, soccer players and require all new enlistees be able to bench press 250 lbs, walk 5 miles in the blazing sun with a 100 lb bag of rocks in a gunnysack and push a hook and ladder truck up one city block at a 6% grade.
If you're gay, trans, or a 5 foot tall Cambodian-American woman and can pass the test, then by all means..... You qualify just like anyone else. I hire by quality, not by quota.

The fire department could have inacted programs to entice or require some changes to people's home landscaping into non combustibles like in Arizona.... rocks and 🌵 anyone?
And like Trump told Newsome a few years back....... Clean up the forest "floors"....that applies to residential areas also.
Like CJ mentioned, it's nearly impossible to totally stop devastation in this windy scenario, but what policies could have been changed to have at least helped?
.....well, I guess they have a clean slate now up on which to regulate the landscaping, home construction materials, maybe even the number of homes... the width of roads in residential areas.
.......you know that stuff is being talked about as we speak.

I'll let the Californians do the blaming and name calling. I'm an outsider lookin in.

I'm sorry, but you asked. 😁
