Nope, I can't help you out. You're just going to have to pay a ridiculous price.

Can’t bring myself to dump that much money on a house. Even if I was a millionaire I would much rather buy the side of a mountain. Prolly could afford the whole mountain if you were willing to live in West Virginia. I could do that.

4 years ago, we gave $40,000 for a 2br house with attached garage, an office, a big deck, new roof, on a 85 x 115 ft lot. Move in ready. Today it is valued at $100,000+. Real estate has gone nuts.

I'll try and dig it up, there's a YouTube channel called louder with Crowder, they do political stuff and they're extremely s harp as a side benefit they're really funny. They do a regular TV type show with a host (Stephen) and a handful of sidekicks most every morning.
He was just describing why the prices have escalated so much, so fast. ....anyway, I'll see if I can dig it back up.

I dragged myself out of bed, fed kitties, let puppies out (still need to clean up after them but too tired), unjammed the float lever & worked on taking down the rest of those blackberry weeds in the back. Was out almost 3hrs when my rake broke. It was cloudy and had a nice cold breeze so I was able to last that long but I need a shower.
Fortunately, I was done with almost all of the work when the rake broke. I can probably fix it (metal came out of the handle) but I was too overheated and hands too shaky to mess with it. Took a brief sink bath for now and am going to head in to get rx and pick up oil and filters to get an oil change at the local tire shop. I don't trust Walmart to do it.
Cooling off and resting for the moment.

Are you in the severe storm area?

Yes. Schools are shutting down tomorrow. They expect tornadoes, hailstorms, etc between here and Alexandria. My dental appointment is in Pineville (just beyond Alexandria) so I will have to reschedule. But I'll have to use my cellphone as my landline has been out for several days. Guy at the tire shop said all the landlines out in my area are down.

At least I got those damn blackberries taken care of (on that side of the house-- I still need to take out the ones on the other side of the house).

I raked up as many of them as I could and rolled them in to a pile. It looks miniscule compared to what I had to cut through:

But this was the end result (phone still won't load camera app and my brother would only take these 2 pics for me)

After a brief rest I went to Walmart to pick up RXs, tried to find some new cheap shoes that fit (no luck)- puppies chewed mine and messed up the insoles. Picked up oil, filter, and Seafoam engine cleaner. Got oil changed at the tire place, had tires checked, got tpms replaced on one. Overheard the guys talking about the storms tomorrow. Went to the gas station, put in seafoam and fueled up. Then to my friend's house for a shower. Got home and ate a salad. Time for a nap.
I grabbed some pajamas that say "Cat Nap" at the store. Figured they were appropriate.

I'm tired just looking at all you got done. Makes me so tired I'm going to grab a beer on their way home to relieve the stress.....
.....and guilt about accomplishing nothing today. 😳

Looking good
When do you want to start here zannej as I am still not up too much :)

LOL. I wish I had the energy and stamina for more yardwork. The weeds are going to be springing back like crazy after all this rain. Saw a cottonmouth on the road yesterday so I know I need to get rid of these weeds near the house asap. Cottonmouths and copperheads love to hide in blackberry bushes. I'm worried the puppies will get snakebit.
I'm having a completely lazy day today. Still in my PJs and plan to stay in them all day. They are comfy. I may wear them to walmart if the roads aren't flooded.

I got up, let puppies out, unjammed float lever, and went back to bed. Woke up just before noon. Puppies were whining on the floor bc they want on the bed but are afraid of cats. Lots of cats piled on the bed. Most of the storm seems to have passed now. No more thunder out there.

I'm about to get some breakfast. I'm thinking either liver or porkchops.

zannej you wont have trouble with snakes and other nasties here so therefore we will see you soon to do work around here :)
The weather is starting to turn, had heaps of rain the other day something like 2 weeks of rain in 2 hours. Thinking about lighting the fire to keep the cat warm

I got my passport now. I could be a traveling gardener.

Gas is coming down a little. $4.33 cash price at Circle K. $4.43 for the rest of us.

I'm already out $1k on paying someone to cut these weeds. Not only did he fail to do it, when he did show up he ended up stealing tools from my car port instead. Nothing with my name on it so cops wouldn't do anything about it if I reported it. He sent me to the store to get more wire for his weedeater and when I came back he'd been picking through the car port & putting stuff in the back of his truck. I didn't find out until after when my friend who was there to help him told me. Guy told him he'd gotten permission to take stuff but the guy lied. To add insult to it, he left immediately after I gave him the weedeater line. Didn't even use it on my stuff. Swore at me on FB when I messaged him privately about it. Basically told me to pound sand and claimed he was "being nice" to me. I told him we were being nice by not suing the crap out of him. We have a promissory note he signed saying he owes us. But good luck getting anything out of him with this crappy court system. They are 3 years behind on cases. Plus we'd have to pay court fees and he would never pay anyway.

There was a tornado south of my area and another two tornadoes north of my area. Would have been hit by one going to the dentist if I hadn't canceled.

I'm not worried about running in to snakes while doing yardwork. I'm worried my pets will run in to snakes if I don't do yardwork.
