Been on this for a week and a half. Complete demo down to the I joists and rebuild. Old handicapped shower leaked and destroyed the whole bath.
Had to be curb less so I recessed the shower 3/4 and built everything outside of it almost 2".

The old shower was mounted on the back wall and sprayed right out the front. Had a cheap click together originally and a lot of water got under it. The advantec subfloor was mush. I left plumbing alone as I'm not a licensed plumber but mounted the shower head so it'll keep water contained.

Yesterday..... Where do you start?
Left side of LR is wall to wall fireplace and hearth. Hearth has a 14 inchish overhang. The left lower (A) and left upper (B) distances to the wall behind the fireplace are different. Takes a lot of figuring to determine starting and ending points.
The front 3 walls are angled 60 degrees and are all windows. There's a 10' sliding glass door on the third angle.
There's a 14 foot hall at the bottom of the drawing.
Angles angles everywhere. Max width is less than 35 feet. My seams will go towards the windows. The current seam runs parallel, about 5 feet out from the windows.
That’s a toughy…. I always liked to stretch away from angles if possible. I think I would try to stretch away from the windows and away from the fireplace. Two heads on your stretcher would help, or a deadman.

If you look at the three angles, the center one and the one on the left are walls with windows a couple feet above the floor and the third angle on the right is mostly a sliding glass door, so it could be stretched away from with minor creativity.
The wall angles are 60 degrees, so stretching towards them wouldn't be a big issue. Like you, I like stretching away from "issues areas" too.
I'm just measuring for materials here.
Approaching 34 feet long, I'd be stretching the length both directions...... stretching one direction harder than the other. I might even stretch both directions in the width too, because I'd rather use a stretcher than a kicker anytime I have the option.

I stained a couple of boards the other day to trim the edge of a hallway that overlooks some stairs.
At the job site, they looked to reddish. I bought a can of brown gelled stain to put over the first one. Looks much better now.
...........I stained 12 feet of 1 by 3's today.
.....yup, that's it. It was all that was on my plate today. Makes me tired just thinking about it.
.....Top that!

That’s fantastic, share more info about the location of pain and the procedure. My back pain has hit a new level. It’s constant and now traveling down to the pelvic area.
Lower back, it would take my legs out to where I couldn't walk without sitting for 5+ minutes, then it would let up for the next 100 ft. I tried my wifes walker which helped, but not ready for that yet. But this seems to be working. I'm going to try walking my dog which would be about 4 blocks. Keep your fingers crossed.

Good luck. My knees keep me from walking very far.

There was a lot of cut offs left over from the work bench project I finished a week ago. What better than to make a butcher block flag.

Just got done sanding it and now I have to test out a few colors to make sure I get the right red and blue. I’m kinda torn as to whether I should make the white stripes white or leave them as clear wood.

I can imagine how good you feel but don't try and pretend you're 40.

A customer went on a five week vacation and I had a set of stairs to do plus finish off the short hall area leading to the master bedroom. Before carpeting the home, this short hallway had Cortec on the floor and the edge below the railing was finished off with bullnose that match the Cortec planks. after the carpet was installed, I stained a 1x3 to match the wood on the stairway and fit that to the top of the wall so that I would have something to turn and tack the carpet onto. it made a nice neat finished edge.
The customer just got home last night and she sent me a text telling me how "beautiful" it looked. That was nice of her.
.....gold stair nose metal would accomplish the same thing but.....
...you know, the text might have been worded differently. 😉

You know those turkey timers that are like a little thermometer that pops up telling you the turkey is done?
Stairs have those too. They tell when the stairs need replacing.
One of them's done and one of them has about another 6 months.
I guess we might as well replace them all at the same time.
