Well I think I got my new car totalled today by a hail storm. Windshield is gone, top of the drivers mirror is missing as well a a panel coming down the rear corner. The hood and top and some of the sides looks like they took steel bubble wrap and jumped on it or a large ball pien hammer and beat the crap out of it. I picked up one hail stone in my yard that measure 3 1/2 inches across, a person in the sub had one 4". Also a window broke out in my garage and siding with holes in it. we have 2 major car dealerships in town and all their vehicles are damaged in some way. Some may have to be scrapped. Some that have sky lights in their home are just that open, to the sky. View attachment 17264

Bondo and rubbing compound.

Daris, that sucks. Hailstorms are one of the reasons I hate skylight windows. I've seen videos of them busting through.

For some reason, mention of the truck being safe under cover reminded me of when we got hit with a supertyphoon. There was no safe place for Dad's work vehicle so he left it parked behind our vehicle (which was in a covered car port made of cinderblocks). Work car was out in the open. When the storm was done, the work car was fine but the wind had come under the car port, ripped the closet door off (there was a closet in the car port made with the cinderblocks and wooden sliding doors) and slammed it on top of our car-- denting the hood and smashing the windshield.

I remember listening to the wind howling outside and then the sound of the car alarm that wouldn't shut off. Looked out the window and saw trash cans, street signs, and other stuff blowing around.

Today I smelled something electrical burning. Traced it to the power strip my computer was plugged into. Shut down computer, turned power strip off, unplugged it, unplugged the computer plug (with some difficulty), showed it to my mother and said I was going to the store to get a new power strip and computer cord. Metal on the plug looked corroded and on the off chance the cord was bad I decided to get a new one.

Grabbed some salads and a sandwich as well as some cable management stuff.

Popped in to TSC to get sweet feed and hay with molasses for the cows. Found my favorite little screwdriver was back in stock. Crescent ratcheting screwdriver with storage for bits in the handle. I pulled too aggressively trying to remove the part to get the bits out and pulled the wrong part off on my old one. Broke the poor thing.

Also got hit in the face with wasps when I walked out the door. They are congregating all along the top. Sprayed them with wasp spray but this time it didn't ricochet back and hit me in the eye. Well, it did ricochet but I covered my eyes. They were still buzzing around the door when I got home. Need to figure out what to spray on the door that is cat safe to keep them away. If it hadn't been 99 degrees I would have considered sanding and painting the door.

Got some news from my friend about his Mom. She was arrested I think Wednesday, arraigned Thursday, and they announced this afternoon (after the lawyer's office closed) that her trail is this coming Monday. No time to subpoena evidence. No time to confer with the lawyer. No time to prepare for the case. Not even given the option for jury trial. I've never seen them take someone to trial that fast. It took them nearly 3 years to take my brother to trial.

Went to the game last night. Haven’t been in a long time. First time to the new stadium that was completed in 2009. Pretty fancy… Had good seats…For $250 a pop…Geeze…😳

I think the insurance company needs to go check your ball peen hammer for fingerprints. 😁
Holy smokes, I never knew you got that kind of weather. I don't think I've ever seen one 3/8 of an inch. Do those kind of hail storms just dump really heavy and one little spot, like a downpour? I think if hail damaged things all throughout a city insurance companies would raise their rates through the roof.

Yikes! Hate to get hit in the head with one of those bonkers!

Worked on more laundry-- a-hole cat made it necessary. So I waited until he was peacefully sleeping and then grabbed him while saying "rarrrr" and startled him. His response was to cling to me and want to cuddle though.

Mom wanted me to go into town to pick up RXs but ran into a snag. Apparently there was some sort of storm that knocked down a bunch of smaller trees. Got TWO down in the same spot on my road.

They don't look that big so I thought, Ok, I can push that top one. Nope. Branch from it is sticking down into the dirt of the hill. It wobbled but sprung back and wouldn't move. Bottom one is oak and wouldn't budge even a cm. Way too heavy. Called the parish sheriff's dept to ask who to call since we are stranded and my brother needs to get to work. Lady said she'd alert the police jury for my area. Hopefully they will send someone out, but we've got thunderstorms. Not raining in my area but it is aways off. Probably won't get to the store before pharmacy closes though.

I guess I should take the time to go get the rest of the cases of water brought in.

Well based on the picture I assume at least rush hour traffic is not a problem..🤗

looks like a job for a rope and a truck.

This road reminds me of some of the roads in Louisiana we dealt with after Hurricane Katrina. Our Red Cross mobile feed units came to me saying people were shooting at them while driving down roads like this. I told them to stop feeding in that area, which would starve out the idiots. Within two days, folks put their guns down and we were able to feed once again. Then again, having a contingent of National Guardsmen escorting them, who were locked and loaded, made easy work for the volunteers.

The people in New Orleans were concerned because the police went door to door and confiscated guns. A court ruled it illegal but the people never got their guns back.

Tried to sell mine 3-4 years ago. Got zero offers. I would give it away now to get rid of it. Still have a carpet cart too and two sets of installation tools. Not worth anything around here. Young guys are not getting into the trade.
