Done deal..... Last room done. Every tool is home, $600 in fuel will not continue eating my wallet.

It's vacuumed and ready for furniture.
I'm happy, the shop sent the final billing and I think everyone's happy. I felt a tingle running up my leg. 😳
......better than down 😁
Even the 4 by 8 closet ended up with straight lines.
This last room was the easiest. It was a 14 by 16 room and the closet didn't protrude into the room, so I was basically working a rectangle. The hardwood in the hall and the tile in the bathrooms transtions were real obstacles. Mainly where to start the pattern, then making sure the rows in the carpet were parallel with the wood, tile and walls. I knew this job was going to be difficult, but it ended up taking twice as long as I expected.
Anywhow, it's a done deal, so it's time to heal.

Now that it's completed, I discovered something in this last room.
......kinda late to change now, but the transitions to the tile and wood could have been done better.
Knowing now, that every wall, every wood transition and tile transition was parallel and perpendicular....... I was forced on this last room, to leave a silver pattern row on, rather than barely cutting it off.
I think that out of the ten doorways, I could have started 9 doorways with one pattern line left on, like this one.
I don't think it would have taken much more time and effort.
On this last room, it shared a common wall with another bedroom. I kept the pattern true, looking straight across the hallway from the previous room. There was 4 feet of hardwood between these two rooms, but if I shifted this carpet 3/4" over in this last room the shift would have been obvious.
Keeping the pattern true to my laser, I ended up needing to leave one silver row next to the tile....... I avoided this in every doorway throughout the entire job.
.....but I'm liking the look. The largest benefit is that it hides the grinning.
I could have made them all look like this. 😳
.....aaah, maybe next time. 😂
Naw I'm happy, just an observation.

Excellent craftsmanship Randy. 👍🙇‍♀️
That bathroom door with the perfect pattern line looks amazing. 🙇‍♀️ No expectations but I think a big tip is in your future. 💰 That carpet job ( work of craftsmanship art 😉) will be the talk of the golfing community and by the builder for quite a while. Well done, Well done !

It ranks up there with the most difficult jobs I've done. Keeping the pattern straight was a large part, but I'm not a woven guy either. This was new territory. It was difficult in part because of the size, but also the learning curve of working with the underlayment height issues at the transition areas. The transition areas were all different, but in the end I made them all the same through ramping in one way or the other.
I wasn't hampered by a time line. I could do whatever I needed to do or wanted to do with no limits. Basically, me making every call.
It sure feels nice sitting at home listening to raindrops and not wondering how much progress I'll make today... .
...I'll be making NO progress today. 🤣
Thanks, I appreciate both the kudos and the advice along the way. 👍

Belated Happy Birthday, Daris!

MSLI, LOL-- don't want to get the "chocolate" confused. I finally got the motivation and cleaned the litterboxes. 2 of them were so bad that I had to just take the entire boxes out and dump them and then scrape out remaining crud. No point in sifting. LOL. I rewarded myself with 3 little debbie cosmic brownies. Then I told myself I shouldn't have eaten that many and fast-walked in place for about 5min. Gravy Jones was ecstatic to have fresh clean litter to mess in.

I need to get another litterbox to set up in the living room for when boo and itsy get in there.

I seem to be feeling a little better now that I stopped taking the stuff with sulfa in it.

Go Chiefs.
I will watch the game. I was on Facebook yesterday, I advertised my book on there. I got a "like" on my book from Gracie Hunt. Looked it up and it was actually her, She is the daughter of the owner of the Chiefs.
I have met a couple players through the years.

had my friend come over to try to hook up cold water to the kitchen sink. I had all the fittings and tools, but then it turns out that one of the fittings was the wrong one. It was in the right box but someone at the store had swapped out the correct fitting. Friend had to cut some weeds back to get to the area to run the pex. Found out the entire floor under the sink rotted out along with the cabinet floor. Need to figure out how big of a hole is there and how to replace/repair it before putting a new bottom on the cabinet. That's going to suck. Will probably require putting in some blocking under the hole and scabbing in some plywood. I didn't realize the leak had gone on long enough for it to destroy the actual floor. I hope it didn't affect floor under other cabinets.

Friend went and checked on the leaking union in the pump house and found the O-ring wasn't seated properly. So he fixed that. He'll have to come back out to hook up the pipes at a later time now that I have the right fitting. I went to Home Depot and explained that someone had swapped out the correct fitting. I got a refund and went and found the right one and made sure it was right.

I'll have to try to get pics of the damage under the cabinet after I clean up under there. My back is not cooperating with bending. I had to do some cleaning before my friend got here so he could get under the sink. My brother's trash was all over the floor.

It's my brother's birthday today. Hard to believe my baby brother is 45 now. I took him to the chinese place for lunch and we picked up a curbside order from samsclub. Got takeout for Mom from the chinese place since she didn't feel like going.

My oldest cat was up in my face but he just found his favorite pillow and moved on to it.

I worked with a kid back in the 70's that thought anyone over 35 was old. He was 18 then that would make him around 65 or so now, I wonder what he thinks about that?
I grew up directly kitty corner from the high school. At lunch time, kids would sit on the edge of our yard. Dad got pissed when they left trash or cigarette butts on the sidewalk. As a kid, I remember them being just as old as Mom and Dad. I mean really, those teenagers were adults in my mind.
Funny how old gets older as we get older. What's seems old to you Daris? 100?
I know a dirty mind keeps a guy young, so in my eyes, you're around 30. 😉

I'm 15, but old to me is each next day at 81.
