About 25-30 yards. I went walking this morning and he was back...I was on a different trail, so I was able to get a much better and clearer view this time.

That's a beautiful bird. Apparently people nearby don't ruffle his feathers much. He looks content.
He flew over me just before landing on that box. I almost fell over backwards getting this shot...
