I feel the same way. There’s a lot of detail and it’s all right there in front of you. Nothing is hidden behind a couch or somewhere out of sight so you have to be on your A game. I think that’s why I love building out trailers. Theres a lot of detail in a relatively small space.
I was self taught. Went from bottom up. All the old guys went from top down and carpet was always loose.

I. was taught to go from the top down, let me tell you they weren't by no means loose. We even turned both sides under on solid steps.
I fixed many a loose stair-tooled step through the years. Kicked-on was much tighter.
