That’s crazy. Couldn’t imagine what that would be like to live there even if the fire didn’t hit my house personally. Just think of how many people besides the millionaire homeowners that are affected. The rich people will simply move somewhere else. It’s the local working class people that are hosed.

The closest fire is about 20 miles away currently. Fortunately, the smoke is blowing away from us, so we are under blue shies. The winds hit us hard and I now have a pool that looks like mud, but a quick filter wash will fix it. I lost my 10' x 20' car canopy, but just ordered a replacement at Costco for $79. I still have a tree down on the street in front of me, but it is low on the priority list for the city to come clean it up. I also have a bent garage door, but it is just the support rail at the bottom. I'll try to get a replacement rail which should only be a few hundred to repair. Yes, we had 80-100 mph winds that got pretty scary.

Aside from any property damage, how affected by this are you? Power out? Have to drive further for gas, groceries and other necessities?

That’s way too close, continued good luck for you and the family !

I can’t help but have this crazy idea for buildings in fire zones to be built underground. Let the deck and patio burn, but the main structure would probably be safe 🤷🏻‍♂️
Keep the brush cleaned out, but the environmentalists fight that.

This is a tough lesson learned for everyone. Both the environmentalists and the enabler‘s who know better, but turn a blind eye. The division of power and ideas
needs to be worked out, not held against each other to prove a point. That’s just plain old childish behavior.

Rumor has it the governor saved money by not charging water reservoirs, and hydrants had no water. 5400 $10M+ homes, so far 7 deaths. FEMA money was also spend for homeless hobos, so they've lost all.
Forgive me, I had a bad day ! ….Rumor has it that the power was turned off and unfortunately hydrants had no pumping pressure. 🤷🏻‍♂️ ….. In a divided society, who the fudge can we trust 🤷🏻‍♂️, can we trust the my pillow guy only 14.98 😂 , maybe Trumpy Trout, or Trumpy bear can save the world 😂 … there is nothing we can do to find truth, if we continue to ridicule each other. When will we decide to stop this insanity, and How many veterans have to blow themselves up in teslas, before we decide to stop vomiting 🤮 bull shiitake, that exaggerates life to make the other guy look like a donkey.
Sorry 😞

Climate change, governmental incompetence or maybe humans are just stupid and think they can outsmart Mother Nature.
But aren't these winds an annual thing?
.....much less intense, but still.
With all those mega million dollar homes and the risk of wildfires every year..... There ought to be water towers filled to the brim and an excessive amount of water coming out of those hydrants. The mayor and fire chief revel in DEI hiring instead of trivial stuff like being prepared for the inevitable. It's not a new thing. Adam Corolla described his 7 year wait to join the fire department. His wait of 7 years? He's male and he's white. When he applied, he wast told his wait would be about 7 years.
How about they focus on muscularity, fire equipment and water supplies? ...oh wait, this is California 🙄

Legislature took $17 from the firefighter's fund. They are adding $8 million to that. It is a fund to use to sue Trump. In his previous 4 years, California sued him 123 times.

My son also applied with the LA County Fire Department, and was laughed at, saying "we weren't hiring whites currently". He insisted on taking the test, and scored one of the highest scores in the room, but African American, gay, lesbian, and other "turds" applicants were provided 40 additional 'bonus' points for their DEI status. He told them to F off, and went to the LA County Sheriff's department and never looked back.

Please watch the footage of our governor being verbally attacked by a homeowner, who lost everything when the few fire"men" told her they didn't have any water to put out those fires. He said he was trying to call the president, and told her to leave him alone. He is one of those liberal puppets who have killed the economy, and can't understand why.
