Hi everyone, been a while since ive posted, looking for some answers on the koolglide as theres not many people with the answers in the uk.

Today i did a 68oz thick saxony carpet, id gather it was nearing an inch in thickness so is probably one of the thickest carpets ive fit, definitely the thickest ive used the koolglide on.

When using the T mode i was having to really lean on the koolglide to get it to recognise the tape underneath, is there a maximum depth this thing can go to? I was using the medium setting, from what i understand L M and H are based on time spent heating tape and not how hot the tape gets, should i have been trying H because of the depth?

Also if anybody could link a good standard heat seam iron thatd be great,i think a good one i see was taylor tools with the seam sealer light and the guide to feed the carpet down ?

On thicker carpet you do have to push down with the KG. H would have been fine or the M setting. When having carpet like that do a couple practice seams to find out which you like. The T mode means Turn mode which you turn the tool sideways like at the end of the seam near a door casing when you don't want to have the tool full length. Remember you should wait 30 seconds before reheating a spot. For best results remember to mark the spot where you were so there are no skips. I used my trimming shears point on the front arrow then moved the tool to the rear arrow on the side of the tool and then hit the button. I hope this helps its a great tool.
