Never have figured out why they put metal in every doorway in the UK.

I just had to look it up.............. the first one might not look so bad. Seams would sure have less complaints.

The first one is the most common according to "fitters" on the UK forums.

Anybody remember when we used to be able to color code our metals with the color of the carpet? I still have some pieces of the colored metal. I think it was only in crimp down. That's what I have.

The colors chipped and wore through on those. Man, those are old. How many colors were available? I only recall a dark brown................ and one other color that I don't remember.
They never caught on over here.

We can still buy the Antique Gold here [Brown]. Tap down, and Flat .

They charge a arm and leg for it now .

You can also get flat bar in unstained wood as well. Usually comes with screws.
