I agree that it takes both sides to find a common denominator, and go forward from there. I just feel fortunate that I have less time on earth, but feel sorry for my grandkids.

Its literally insane, but if we really look back, it is kind of the way it has always been. The problem now is not so much that they are all idiots who disagree with each other and mope on about it, it is that we all get to see it in real time. Then there is the sensationalization that garners media attention and social media cred so everyone is just running to the ends of the earth. There are still a lot of good politicians and government types, but no one knows who they are because they keep their mouths shut and do their jobs.

I mean hell, it isn't like there was a civil war because everyone was buddies.

Speaking of the Civil War, I have relatives that fought on both sides, including a general for the North. Then again, I hear many had relatives who fought against each other.

I am always blown away with how much Civil War commemoration there is in the United States. I understand people are proud of their ancestors and what have you, and their past but man, why would you ever want to give such a place of pride to something that literally tore a country in two?
Clearly, I do not understand something and I do mean no offence, it just really is something that surprises me. I don't even like to remember fights I had with the wife, mostly because she wins.

The Democratic party has ruined generations of black people. Because of all the free stuff, many have never learned to work. The Democratic party of today is nothing like the one 60 years ago. It has steadily become more socialist and anti-rights.

I was a Democrat when I was younger. The party started to turn with LBJ and then got a lot worse under Clinton and Obama. The fact that the Democrats wasted 50,000 lives in Vietnam, started the turn for me.

I bet you we can’t go 3 days with a re-direct, lighten the mood, good stories ? ......I’ll start, this past weekend a 4 year old girl came to visit with her mom and I got to play pretend Grandpa. We played “ I Spy”. Went on a hay ride ( brother was going tooo fast on the four wheeler) and I won her a stuffed animal from one of those ‘ Claw ‘ catching games. .....ok your turn, commence operation redirect !

I have 12 grandkids and 3 great grandkids, but when my daughter was babysitting a 4 year old, she started calling me old papa. So I made her a child's rocking chair in my shop for Christmas.

So you’re watching the hearing on capital hill and you condone the actions of the citizens against the Capital police? Just curious how you defend those actions.

The Democrats had turned it into theater. They're trying to make this look worse than 9/11.
They have data on the people that walked in and protested and they have the information on the people that got violent. The protesters did not bring guns so this was obvious enough an attempt to overthrow the government.
What is hearing should be about is why the capital police were totally absent at the Capitol that day. They were one by the FBI the CIA and the New York Police Department that there could be issues happening that day......
.....and how did they prepare for the possible violence that they were warned about well in advance?

The capitol police are an embarrassment. Their entire career was holding doors open. They have crowds one day, and they are traumatized for life? Pussies, all of them. I've been shot at, broke limbs, pulled burning bodies from cars, watched babies take their last breath, investigated the deaths of friends, been to enough police officer funerals for a lifetime, but one little rumble, they shoot an innocent unarmed veteran and they are traumatized forever.. Total rehursed BS.
