Yeah, I too have mixed opinions. The true radical Muslims are way too scary to have around, because like cockroaches, they will take over an area and try to radicalize everything on 2 feet. I do know a few, and have been over to their house for dinner, and they are fine folks, but even the Americanized Muslims treat their women like second class slaves. I was appalled and their rituals. The wife was ordered to keep serving us food, and was prohibited from sitting with us.

There are other ways to be, in order to have function, but someone generally has to start the process of assertiveness and then someone usually has to give grace.

Life is not a screenplay, and we can’t appoint ourselves as the directors who can fire people. We do however have a responsibility to direct ourselves and each other as we negotiate challenges, but done with two concepts in mind. WHAT ARE THE CORE NEEDS AND RESPONSIBILITY.
The need is to accomplish the township meeting. The responsibility is to respect all members. So what’s the secret ?
Assertiveness and grace
and when one person resists or defends against the other, one person needs to apply assertiveness, because If it is to be, then, it is up to me.

Someone must elicit the good behavior, be the bigger person, mentor to the other, who is stuck in resist and defend, and we all get stuck there from time to time.Elicit good behavior, rather than provoke resist and defend……This is not a game of win, because when one party wins, we all lose by perpetuating dysfunctional means and manners, on how to take care of everyone’s township business.
