I was talking about the steps . First install er did right . People out there want everything for free . I charge $100 just to come out and look at it .

The installer only made $80 for the job. HO won't pay to do anything else. Some other installers are giving the guy grief because he did not ramp it. The difference is 5 inches. How in the hell would you ramp 5 inches and not make the carpet installation look like crap? If the installer even added a threshold, it would come out of his $80. IMHO, HO got what they paid for.
I just got paid to ramp some carpet up 1/4" along a 17 foot long S-curve and tuck it to 3/4" hardwood. Charged $70 extra, and that didn't feel like enough.
The room was 16 feet wide by 23 and I ran the carpet lengthwise so the seam would run down the far side of the room, opposite the S-curve.
I charged $435 for the old carpet and pad removal, installation of the new, ramping and fitting to the wood, and $35 of that was for furniture moving

Very cool!
I probably wouldn't be able to get the runner straight to begin with. LOL.
Excellent sewing job as well.
I wish I could find the pic again, but it was a photo of stairs with carpet all the way down except not on the very last step and the wood of the last step matched the color of the base floor so people were likely to trip from not seeing that the step was there. LOL.
