I hear there was a shooting nearby and also the kid had an empty clip on his person or in his car.
.......still no reason to shoot him if he was unarmed and fleeing.

Depends on the gun. Some Glocks can fire by just looking at them wrong.I can't bring myself to watch the cop shows most of the time now because I see how differently they treat white people vs black people. White person gets pulled over for same thing or worse and they get talked to nicely (granted, not all the time). Black guy & black passengers get guns pointed at them.
An off duty cop pulled his gun on a Latino man in a convenience store bc he thought the customer stole a pack of Mentos. He had just paid for them while standing in line in front of the cop. He ordered the guy to put the Mentos down and leave despite the guy explaining he just paid for it. Clerk was too afraid to speak until the cop asked him if it had been paid for and he said "Yes". But even if he *had* been stealing, still no reason to pull a gun.
And a guy in a T-Mobile store was accused of theft by the employees. Cops pointed guns at him and made him crawl on the floor. I realize that there are people who can be armed and who do pull guns out, but there are times when cops pull their guns and point them at people when it is not called for. They escalate rather than de-escalate.
In local news, a 4-year-old allegedly shot himself in the head/face & died. The claim was that he got the gun out of his mother's drawer and managed to pull the trigger while pointing it at himself. Although some of the news reports say that somehow the .40 caliber gun went off while pointed at the child's head. Of course, local cops won't investigate, but there are some questions from neighbors and so forth on whether or not the child had the hand strength to pull the trigger.
LOL. I'd heard that Glocks can have a hair-trigger and that is why cops use them-- easier to shoot. But, I've heard that is also why there have been some accidental shootings by police. There was a push to get them to switch to Sig Sauer but there was resistance to it because the cops liked being able to shoot with very little pressure.Depends on the gun. Some Glocks can fire by just looking at them wrong.
In a press release, the Second Amendment Foundation notes its favorite aspect of the settlement:
Significantly, the government expressly acknowledges that non-automatic firearms up to .50-caliber—including modern semi-auto sporting rifles such as the popular AR-15 and similar firearms—are not inherently military.
"Not only is this a First Amendment victory for free speech, it also is a devastating blow to the gun prohibition lobby," noted SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan M. Gottlieb. "For years, anti-gunners have contended that modern semi-automatic sport-utility rifles are so-called 'weapons of war,' and with this settlement, the government has acknowledged they are nothing of the sort.
