A statement from law enforcement which I have copy/pasted.

Ultimately, if there aren’t people held personally accountable in the LA municipal government for this fire disaster, it will make a mockery of the system, city politics and the Democrat party. Yep, it’s a stretch in today’s political environment, but if there was ever an example of blatant malfeasance by public figures, it’s this one. If they slide, then it sets a precedent and a model of sidestepping accountability for future generations.

And the environmentalists blocked them from cleaning out the brush.

Makes me think of a pedestrian getting hit by a car in a crosswalk. It may be someone else’s fault but you’re still the one dead. Isn’t that why one of the first things your taught is to look both ways before you cross the road?? I think as humans we have forgotten the basic rules of life and no longer look both ways before we cross the road. We just assume the other person is looking out for us. Now here we are after the fact looking for someone to blame.

...and they don't like the areal tankers scooping up sea water and dumping it on the flames. Rock and a hard place.

That’s gonna be a whole different problem down the road. Then again, if nothing grows, maybe the problem will solve itself.

If there's enough salt, will it absorb the rainfall, thus stopping a landslide?
........asking for a friend.

You ever hear about the Roman’s salting the earth after they conquered a city. It changes the soil making it so that nothing will grow there. Same thing will happen if you irrigate your land with saltwater. The water evaporates leaving salt behind. Do it for long enough and that’s it. Then what?

......well then, that solved one problem.
No ground cover to ever burn again.
How about concrete lawns.... Dyed concrete (never have to paint it)
Large gutters and drain systems to carry the rainwater down towards the ocean, but not before going through large generator turbines. (Making dam removal acceptable again)

It takes two to screw 😜 things up.

The environmentalists’ambitious strengths’ became a blinding weakness and the opposition’s laziness, turning a blind eye, created the disaster 🤔 …. That’s why it’s so important for society to have engagement with opposition, not animosity.

Both sides are 100% guilty of that and Who’s going to start the fight fight fight against animosity plans, that divide, and take the high road to engage ? …. How about all of us and the sooner the better.

I don’t know about you, but if someone or some group in my community was doing something that put others in real harm’s way ( like ending fire breaks) especially if those breaks have a tried and true history of working. I would not allow environmentalists to block my firm respectful response.

If we teach and apply this concept, then all tragedies can be blamed on all of us. United we stand divided we fall.

People tried to block the environmentalists, but they had the California government behind them. It became illegal to cut the brush.

I bet those people ( conservatives or liberals) wish they would have continued the fight fight fight. That’s the point ! That’s the lesson ! We can’t make improvements on our own ambitious strengths, because we know what we know, but we don’t know what we don’t know. That’s why we actually need the opposing points of view before implementing strategies, rules and regulations…… does that make sense ?
