I live in a town of 8,000, we have three parks with lakes. About 20 miles from here is a state park with buffaloes. When I feel ok, lots of places to take pictures. My favorite park. It dates back to the 1880s. It was a health resort at one time. Can't see it in this picture, but the bridge on the right leads out onto an island. This whole park gets decorated for Christmas. You can walk or drive around the lake.

Despite only being 3° F outside, I did make it out today for a little while...
I went to Ouabache State Park about 30 miles south of Fort Wayne. Funny you mentioned buffalo...they have a bison pen there.
The Junco's were out digging in the snow for pine cones...
They fly up about a foot in the air and then land real heavy and make a dent in the snow with their bodies. Then they dig down to see if they can find a pinecone with seeds in it or other tasty treats. Was kind of cool to see actually....
Here's one digging in a footprint in the snow ahead of me. When I first saw him he was so far down in there I thought he was dead. He was just rootin' around down in the impression for food...
Northern Blue Jay just chillin', but keeping an eye on me too...
Took a few shots with my Nikon D7500 as well...not overly happy with the Tamron lens I was using, but I'm still waiting for my other lenses to arrive. It did ok...it doesn't have the reach of my Olympus with this lens, but it does generate good color.

The state park near here has 4,000 acres that 100 buffalo roam free on. Mostly natural prairie grass, never been plowed. Same place I took the butterfly pictures.
Freezing rain all day and then rain for the next several days. No photo taking.
I still miss this car. I had repinstriped it myself. Did a lot of restoration work. Not long after I took this picture, a tree came down in a storm end-to-end and demolished it
. Only 30 made that year with that particular package. 89 Riviera.
