Highup, I'm not aware of a way to organize your photos. Sorry guys I've been really busy this week and haven't had much time to do anything i did however take this photo Saturday night.

Same here. Been to busy to pop in here much like you................. not profitable, just busy.
I know there are ways to do this, but lack of organization is my middle name. I've never been good at that kinda thing.
Great photo. Exposure for these shots is the hardest thing to get right.

I made this rather boring old shot, but discovered a shape within it, that I sorta liked. I cropped that small portion of the image and went into uncharted territory.
I whipped it back and forth probably 200 times using Photoshop and NeatImage and came up with a psycho scene from the 60's. It would have made a fun poster if I had been able to start with a larger initial file size. .........this was just a small cropped portion of an image made into digital by a local discount store.
I think the original was on Kodachrome. I converted the image to a negative on the confuser and started screwing with it.
I messed with sharpening, color correction, levels, curves and then Neat Image literally dozens and dozens of times and it got better every round.......... I saved it in a small image size........... 800 by 547. I wished I could have saved it larger size, but I had a small file size to start with.

I have tried over and over and can't even get slightly close to remaking the image. There was no method to my madness. :D
It's still a fun one since it isn't an image that has details that need any real world sharpness.

This one will do the trick for you hi.
Been using it for years .

You can also download a 15 day free trial and see if it is what you are looking for.
Lots of good things in that program, but it mentioned the word
"overwhelming" as a con. I' don't handle overwhelming very good.:D

..................... I'm back home now and so I am on dialup.......... 70mb + is about 20 hours if the line stays connected that long. :D

I'm thinking of something simple so I can simply tag photos and find them by typing key words. ........something that will scan through my computer and find any photo file with the tag words that I chose. I don't want another program that does any Photoshop or manipulation type stuff. I might be looking for something that doesn't exist.

It's novice stuff. Like letting a chimpanzee loose in a nuclear facilities control room for an hour and letting him randomly twist knobs, push buttons and throw switches........... no skill required. :D (me da monkey)

Images here are from a friend. He had gotten these at a garage sale. I made scans and cleaned em up and did color corrections. The film was Kodak Ektachrome, and that slide film didn't hold up very well over the years. It's emulsion slowly degrades over time developing spider web looking patches, and the color shifts a lot.
The year was 1959 in a town 90 miles away from where I live. A truck loaded with 6 1/2 tons of explosives parked on a city street because the driver had a delivery for the following morning.
A business across the street caught on fire, and eventually as firefighters were working on the fire, the unnoticed truck exploded. 8 city blocks were destroyed and hundreds of local businesses were damaged.

I was only two years old, so I don't recall mom and dad talking about it much. :D

Here's a few of the photos that my friend asked me to scan. The last photo shows how the images looked like before correcting with Photoshop. Color was tinted this way on all of them.

Ever seen a bright star close to the horizon twinkling or blinking in very noticeable colors......... changing to red, yellow, blue, green? Red and blue seem to be most common. Kinda like a cops light or a plane light blinking, but with more color?
I pointed the camera at a star that was twinkling, then opened the shutter and while holding the shutter open, I 'swooshed' the camera up and down a little bit and the colors showed up in my man made star trail.

How do you get those spiders to pose for ya? Those are pretty cool. My eyes seem to have a harder time focusing than they used to. Not sure I could do spiders.
I prefer the safe shots............... 2 minutes at F16 so it's all in focus no matter how bad my eyes are.
Here's the original image with the original color cast caused my the long exposure time, plus the effects of using two polarizing lenses enable a long exposure in daylight. I think this was KR 25.
I added a B&W version of it.
I called this Abe at Arago................ my version of Where's Waldo. Find Abe. :D

Here's another. Long exposures can be fun on water. On the shoreline it makes the surf turn into a foggy look. Always fun and you never know what the results will turn out like. Two to twenty minutes can do this sort of thing.

I really like the b&w ^

I just find the spiders hanging out on their Web and ask them if they will sign a model release. That shot was f/11 I believe.

That's one thing I like about digital............... It remembers the settings. I can't remember the settings that I used for those long exposures. I know they were 16 or 22 in order for me to get the time I needed. Probably 2 minutes or less on the first image and 5 to 10 minutes on the second one because it was taken a while after sunset. I had a light meter back then to assist me in guessing the exposures..................... and I do mean guessing.

Yeah, I know this isn't the best shot, but when you see it crawling under the bedspread at the hotel I am staying at, you will understand why I am pissed.
How do you know that it didn't come in riding on your shoe?
Those kind are like a bee sting, right?

Poor critter was probably feasting on the bedbugs for ya. :D

I've received many remarkable nature photographs over the years but this photo of a nesting Falcon is perhaps the most remarkable Nature shot that I've ever seen. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Nature is truly breath-taking!
