I've received many remarkable nature photographs over the years but this photo of a nesting Falcon is perhaps the most remarkable Nature shot that I've ever seen. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Nature is truly breath-taking!
A FALCON NESTING IN A TREE.

The falcon, in it's natural environment. Watch closely as it waits for it's prey.

Got dive bombed taking these shots.

I have been messing with the calibration of my monitor using PS................ what a pain.
What colors do you guys see in the quick reply box in A, B and C?
I'm seeing lavender, a lighter lavender and light gray.

B looks more blue than lavender to me.

hanging out with some friends this evening in Greenville, SC. We were in an ice cream shot and the lighting was perfect. I did what any photographer would do. Pulled out my camera and took some shots.

Thanks WS. I'd like to know if others see the same as you. I might have a smidgen to much to the red. I adjusted it and thos the color looks good to me, I'm looking for input from others ............others that have not screwed around with their monitors color like I did. :D
Nice shot. Looks like it could make an album cover. Can he sing? :D

Photographic ethics.
What's fair in a photo? Lightening, darkening and highlighting, and even printing a color photo in black and white all have been considered part of photography since it's existence.
When is manipulation considered "cheating"?
I love this one, but I thought the funky water to the right of the fisherman on shore was a digital boo boo............. Nope, it's low tide and there is a reef in that spot making the water look really bad.
In the lower photo, I "fixed' the funky water. Is that considered OK in the world of photographic ethics? Or is "anything goes" the norm these days?

Fishermen at Arago ethics.jpg

Here's a B&W version and I cropped out the boat that was entering the frame on the left side. Better this way or full framed with the boat entering on the side? That's part of a boat, and not a fishing pole on the far left of the images above.
This was a one of a kind event because I don't see people fishing out on this rock very often, and as I set up to shoot the fishermen and the boat on the right, the two boats on the left came around as if it was planned. Everyone came into position at the right moment and virtually made the shot for me.
Very rare to see the fishing boats in so close because of the reefs in this area.

The top 2 are to red in my thoughts but what do I know from someone who can't take a good photo

Those are just how the scans came out............. I hadn't messed with them yet.
My scanner has different settings and I still haven't decided whether to let the scanner do some of the corrections of if I should do them. I'm still learnin.
.........so your monitor is fine. They are definitely reddish.
Here's a different scan with different settings. I haven't doctored this one at all either.

Looks okay to me
Oh Master what do you think of this camera to take to Antarctica

http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/products/cameras/digital_cameras/powershot_sx280_hs

From what I have found out one can't change lenses at Antarctica as they fog up when one is ashore that's why I went for this one
It seems to have trouble with battery power on video though

Not sure Jon. Optical zoom is good zoom, digital zoom is fake zoom. I don't know how much good zoom the camera has. Digital has this old timer confused.

If you are on Facebook, keep a eye on the local bidit sites. I bought my latest Canon for $50 because the teenager who got it for her birthday thought it was too heavy and wanted a point and shoot. It retailed for $500. The other one I have, I gave $18 for, it retailed at $350. I buy a lot of stuff and sell a lot on those sites.
