Speaking of cars, I mentioned on another forum that I was backing out of a parking space in the Walmart parking lot-- No cars were coming toward me from the oncoming side and I was checking to make sure that nobody was behind me as I was backing out-- and some old bat backed her car right into the side of my car. She then moved her vehicle and refused to give me her info. She insisted on calling the cops to come take a look. She had no damage to her car-- her back bumper basically crushed my rear driver side door (after she backed into me she kept trying to back up and crunched the door even more). When the cop got there she lied to say that I was at fault (she suddenly got nasty and said that she was backing out first because none of her passengers saw my car-- her passengers were small elderly people in the back seat of a car and wouldn't have been able to see behind them). I showed the cop where she hit me and pointed out that she got the side of my car with the back of hers. He didn't bother to go check with the store's security (I'm certain the cameras captured the accident) and said that we were both at fault and he was giving us both notations of being guilty of "improper backing" but that he wasn't giving tickets. I was annoyed and requested that he pull the security tape-- he said "no" because it was "a civil matter". I told him I wanted my insurance company to look at it-- he also refused to give me the old bat's info so I couldn't tell my insurance company who she was or what insurance she used. I wrote down her license plate number, took a photo of the back of her car as well as a photo of my car. I wish I'd gotten a photo of the scene, but I didn't think about it. I told my insurance company to try to pull the security tapes and let them know that she refused to give me her info and that the cop was uncooperative. I have to wait until the police report is out so I can hopefully find out who the old bat was because we might have to take her to small claims court for our deductible. Really don't want the insurance rates going up because the old bat didn't look before backing out.

Anyhoo, the door has to be replaced and I took the car in. Last time I had a door replaced on a car (after my brother got in an accident), it only took about a day. The guy at the preferred body shop (preferred by my insurance company) said he would call when the car was fixed. I dropped it off in the morning and called this afternoon to ask about the progress. The guy laughed at me and told me it would take more than a day to replace the door. I refrained from pointing out that another body shop was able to do that for my Ford Explorer. He said the car might be ready sometime next week. The shop is not in the best part of town and I really don't like leaving my car there that long. I wish I'd taken it to a different shop now, but my insurance said there might be more hoops to jump through if I took it elsewhere. At least I took the GPS and other stuff out of it.

So now I get to wait. I've had to run around taking my mother to doctor's appointments, driving friends to the grocery store, and usual junk like that.

The past few weeks I was feeling sick, but I'm feeling a bit better now. I'm just tired.

Got my car back after almost two weeks. They didn't even work on it at all for a week and they left it in their lot with the keys in the ignition and windows rolled down. But the paint job looked beautiful. Apparently they had some trouble getting it right and had to keep re-doing it so it took a long time. They didn't wash the car first (which is probably one of the first things they should have done because it has a LOT of dirt on it). They still owe me a free carwash. I didn't get to take it back to them just yet.
Meanwhile the colder weather has been making my cats want to be inside. I had 7 on the bed the other night. They are bed hogs, but the purring is nice.

7 cats??????????????????? :)
We now have 2 and they are deaf
I had one hell of a job teaching them to lip read
Only one will get on the bed and do her pushie pullies. This morning it was 4 am
Don't think I could handle 7

Delivered 3 sheets of 3/4 inch plywood to a job site so it could acclimate. I will be installing 100 sq feet of Armstrong Alterna tile in a week or so. Boy am I wooped. :D
