A little hail not far from here. We only got pea size.

What was the death count? O can't imagine the damage those would do..... to anything. Cars, roofs, trees....... and them thar save the earth solar panels.

Damn, that's some big hail. I'm glad we don't get that stuff here. It's been rather warm to hot out lately. I went outside to cut some weeds & blackberry bushes that were encroaching on the porch & sidewalk (as well as around the parking space for the truck). Unloaded dog food & cat food from the truck & felt overheated and exhausted. My left hand wouldn't stop shaking for over an hour. Not sure why. I'm waiting for Mom to get up (or at least see if she's feeling better) and to hear from my friend on going to get his cabinets. I don't want to go too late in the day bc I want to get started on staining.

Got the cabinets yesterday. Friend saw a really cool microwave cabinet & wanted it instead of the 27" one. I was trying to do measurements to figure out if it would fit & was thinking it was too large. He teased me about how women always think about inches. We all laughed & I forgot. Turns out I was right that it wouldn't fit though, but we found that out when we got it to the house & I was ready to stain them. Microwave cabinet will become a laundry cabinet that will fit to the left of the washing machine. The opening for the microwave is large enough to store the bottles of detergent.
I was really bugged by the knot-hole on the 3rd cabinet as well as some other minor holes. It looked like a cockroach & a couple others looked like spiders or ants. I went over with some wood filler to get rid of the holes & then went back a few hours later after the cabinets were up & covered them with stain. I did a little bit more touching up. I still have more touchups to do in some spots but it was late and the smell of the stain bothers the pregnant fiance. Cabinets ended up a bit lower than my sketch & we still need to get 1 more. Found out the 30"x30" is cheaper than the 27"x30" so we'll get that one. I'm aiming to go in the morning on Monday to get it so I can stain it as soon as we get back.
My friend adjusted the lower cabinets to make them level & lined up better, but that left too much of a gap in front of the pantry cabinet. He's got leftover flooring to fill the gap though.

Been trying to come up with a plan or design for my router table fence.
I decided on 3"by3" angle aluminum for the fence.... the main fence. Being this will probably be stored in my carport, everything I have thought up is about components not warping.
Aluminum doesn't warp.
I found a couple of flawlessly straight, anodized aluminum pieces just over the length that I needed.
Had I devised s configuration using plain aluminum stock, I would have had to face the fence with Formica because aluminum isn't very hard till it's anodized
Got the two pices cut, sanded so it will bond then clamped together just before sunset. Hope that the JB Weld didn't "shmoosh" and let these two pieces go out of alignment. Stacked one above the other it will make the fence 2 1/2" tall. Probably taller than most of what I will ever use it for.
I'm expecting these two square tubular aluminum pieces stacked one over the other, will make a super smooth fence once combined.
Only image that I have so far IMG_20200508_192005326.jpgis...... what I started with. Clamped together overnight and the result will be flawless....... right?
:ghostly:

I like aluminium so I don't find it boring. I like to see your projects. I'm looking forward to seeing more of it.
It rained all day. We had tornado watches & stuff. Rain lulled me to sleep (plus I kept waking up over and over the night before so I didn't get good sleep). Cooked dinner but was so tired I forgot to add the stroganoff powdered mix in. I kept trying to figure out why the color and texture in the pan didn't look right. I didn't realize until it had finished cooking & I was mixing in the sour cream when I saw the full packet sitting on the counter. Fortunately, I was able to mix it in at the last minute & it went in just fine, but the texture of the sauce was too thin. Mom actually liked the flavor better because the spices were stronger. LOL. I was worried it was going to be a disaster but it worked out.

Sorry to hear your wife isn't feeling well, Rusty. I hope she gets feeling better soon.
Meat prices are getting insane. It's gone up over $5/lb here. Gonna need to find different meal ideas soon. Mom sure loves the stroganoff though.

This weekend it was $4.95 at Kroger.
Made some progress on my router table fence. It's a split fence so the bit opening area is adjustable.
I bought some 3 inch angle aluminum for the main structure of the fence and cut slots in it to allow adjustment of the split parts of the contraption.
I used JB Weld to stack two sections of anodized aluminum together to gain some height. The aluminum is about 1 1/8" square and has rounded corners. I glued the pieces together to get the height needed, then cut them in half to make the two movable fence sections.
To fasten the split fence to the main fence, I drilled, tapped 2 holes in each section, the countersunk the face side holes for the 1/4-20 screws.

This is what it will look like once completed.
Been a fun project... now I need to figure out what I'm going to do with it. 😁
Dust collection is a big deal with router tables. If I get creative enough, I might be able to incorporate the square tubing as part of the vacuum system. Using the lower two sections of tubing, it would be equal to 1/2 the volume of my 16 gallon shop vac hose diameter. It's an idea in progress.
