Sure wish I was too old to deal with this. The toilet is set on top of the carpet. Should be a real flavorful experience today. To make things even better the power went out in the neighborhood. Good thing I have cordless tools.

CJ, I had the same situation in my bathrooms. Only the carpet was a LOT uglier. It had been in over 30+ yrs and was so nasty. When I removed the carpet and pad from under where the toilet had been, the wood floor was the consistency of mud.

Took my friend to Lowes to get some butcher block countertop on sale. Found a damaged piece and had heard from The Deal Guy on Youtube that managers can give you discounts for damage that stacks with other discounts. So I asked and ended up getting my friend 20% off (in addition to the 30% off sale that was on). Then it was on to Home Outlet (aka Surplus Warehouse). I grabbed the very last 12" base cabinet while my friend grabbed the dishwasher end panel. I'm going over probably sometime this weekend to seal the countertop and stain the cabinet & end panel.

I picked up the kitten, Nightmeow and put medicine in his eyes. He was purring and happy. I wanted to stay and hold him longer but I had to get home to feed mom.

Road was atrocious. Worse on the way home than on the way out. Even with 18" wheels it was scraping the underside of my truck. Why they decided to unpave stuff before storm season was over is beyond me. They should have waited. And done it in smaller chunks. Shorter vehicles can't drive on it. When I get over to my friend's house I will try to upload a video or two of how bad it was the other day. It's worse now.

Speaking of worse, two of my friends just got Covid. Found out on one of their birthdays. She thought it was a sinus infection. I am worried because she has some serious health issues. Her mother left a mercury thermometer in her mouth when she was a kid and it broke. She got severe mercury poisoning that damaged her organs. She was also neglected/malnourished and abused by her stepfather. So she's had a lot of physical trauma.

I’ve been working on my trailer all week.
I took it for one last surgery. I had the other side fixed last year.
I removed and replaced the floor and wall panels, and took it to the machine shop.
I had to patch in the front flooring and replace the rear plank. I built some new shelves and did some reorganization.

Nice lookin set up, Don.

My belly is full. Made dinner for the family. Nothing special, just whatever was in the fridge and cupboards that I could turn into a meal. The best part was dessert. My customer today baked me an apple crumb pie. I could smell it baking all day. Couple scoops of tillamook ice cream and I’m ready for a nap.

So you know when you think you have seen everything, well I have not seen this before and its in my own bloody house.

Thought I would tear up a board of the hardwood and see what I am dealing with.... and I found this commercial glue down carpet. What crazy person would cover up beautiful level loop with dumpy old hardwood. Oh the world we live in!

What's really tacky is they left in the old rotted tackstrip.
Was the wood floor making any creaky sounds or noises?

That kept the wood from walking. What’s crazy is it musta held up alright throughout the years cus who knew until now.

Must be. I feel like a pie baked with old lady love is even better than a cash tip and who doesn’t love cash tips.

For the first time in literally months we're actually going to have some rain. I think last month we've had 0.01 inches of whatever it was that hit the ground.
The forecast for later this morning and Sunday is supposedly inch and a half to two inches of rain. We haven't had that much rain in the last 3 months combined.
Odd thing is it's 11:30 p.m. and for the last 3 hours the temperature outside is 68°. That there tells me the weather forecasters know something's cookin'. One would expect 68 for a high this time of year but high temperature if usually aren't at midnight.
Humidity is 69% and earlier it was 64%. Sompin' strange is happening. They predicted the possibility of rain starting late this afternoon into early evening. I got home about 5:00 and I brought home my trusty Sears vacuum cleaner motor. It detaches and you can use like a blower.
My gutters were packed full of pine cones and needles and I was hoping I could get home and clean those before the torrential downpour occurred.
I got lucky and got my gutters cleaned out without getting a drop on my head. 💨💦

Well for the first time in a few months the weatherman were correct. 10 minutes ago it was 69° and right now it's 62.
The rain is pitter-pattering on the roof. It will be interesting to see how accurate the weather forecasters were.
It's now 12:23 and the pitter patter is steady. This coming down so steady I don't think it's ever going to stop. I feel like heading down to 7-Eleven in stocking up on supplies in case the inevitable happens.
I'm glad we have rain and don't have typhoons tornadoes and hurricanes. . Sometimes our weather can get really icky. This storm is going to make a lot of firefighters very happy in other parts of the state. The rainfall is desperately needed even though it's only going to amount to a couple of inches in the next day and a half or two. I'm trying to think of a Johnny Carson joke.
It was so dry.............

So strange it was 69° 20 minutes ago and now it's 60. His weird having temperatures drop this way at this time of night. If the temperature keeps dropping this rapidly, is going to be 0° in about 2 hours. 😲😲😲

I got a call from a lady that is 95. She says her name is '' TROUBLE" it even says that on her walker. She has a couple rugs she wants bound. What a sweet old lady. I told her she shouldn't have rugs at her age as she could fall and it possibly could lead to her demise. She then told me her friend fell and broke her leg and then got the covid and passed. Says she lost her drinking partner. She still drives and can tell you where all the Yuker places are in the area she goes to. Quite frankly I'd love to just sit and talk to her for a couple hours about what she has seen in her life time, she is probably a walking librairy. I'm not going to charge her for any of the binding I do and for a replacement rug in her garage that she can get out of her car on.

Don, looks very cool!

Daris, that is very sweet of you.

I'm exhausted. About to take my daily meds and nap a bit more. I'm always tired the day after a trip to the bigger towns.
