I hope all goes well with your relatives Floorist as well
I just heard that a flooring guy I have known for years, who lives at the bottom of our South Island has just had a small heart attack followed by a small stroke down his left side. He also said it will take a long time but all the doctors say that he will come right given time
Trouble with getting old we all have friends our age having medical problems
Oh to be young again with no health worries

Getting old is a bitch. You have more Dr appointments than days in the week. Also attend a lot of funerals of friends and relatives.

Yesterday I tried to herd my leaves to the street for pick up. Have you ever tried to move leaves in one direction and the slight breeze is coming from the opposite direction or swirling? Took me maybe 3 times as long as it should have but got most to go where I wanted them. My leaf blower is susposed to put out 200 mph air and mother natures was only about 15 with gusts and she prevailed a lot of the time.

Now, how do we discard our leaves? Cut each leaf into neat one inch strips with scissors and place them single file in our little basket here. We then remove a leaf strip from the basket. Place our leaf strip in the bag, fold it over - keeping the corners square and we staple - once - and twice.
Now, of course, there is the problem of the staples punching through our plastic leaf bag, but watch this. We get another bag. And.. we slide the first leaf bag in - staples first - like this. ..........Come on!
There! There he goes! Now! We staple again - but - we do not fold over this time. Staple once - and staple twice. Now, I know what you're thinking: "But, Gene, those staples could burst through that plastic leaf bag as well." Well. They can't, and here's why. Because we make a little cuff by rolling over the top of the bag. That covers the staples. There! Ready for the trash.
Repeat with the rest of the leaf strips and the yard is pretty as a summer day.
OK, slightly plagiarized........... Get to it Daris. Make that yard pretty. :D

Moving my daughter today. One nice thing about small towns. I could not find an appliance dolly to rent, so I asked on one of the Facebook sites that I run. I got a message from a guy I met once three years ago. He told me not to rent one, just come by and use his. He left it in his driveway for me and gave me the address.

That's neat, Rusty.

I picked me up a nice little Stihl gas powered chainsaw today at Ace Hardware. It's only a 16 inch chain but I ain't going to be taking down big trees anyway. Got a couple trees on the property that are dead and my electric saw really sucks!

I can get a permit to go cut wood up on the mountain from the forest service cheap and get my own firewood instead of paying exorbitant prices in town. I'd rather do that anyways, get some fresh air and help clear the forest of clutter and reduce forest fires. Anytime I can get up the mountain is always a good time. Plus I can be up near 10,000 ft in 30 to 40 minutes.
