Can you blame them 😜 we can be scary looking.😂
Artists at a wee bit off. They just have to accept it. 😁
You know the guys in the unwrinkled blue shirts and polyester pants like in the Empire Carpet ads?
...the ones with no scraps or unfinished edges to be seen, and the carpet has already been vacuumed ?
....and the room has a toolbox in the middle of the room with two guys doing absolutely nothing to the carpet edges.
Don't hire them.
Hire the guys with the tattoos.

Years ago, installers would line up outside Empire and bid on jobs. So the customer would get the cheapest installer. How could that go wrong?

My Mullet arrived yesterday. New toys always get me excited. I’m a little achy today so I’m staying home. Guess I’ll have to be patient and wait a day or two. It will give me a reason to go in this weekend cus I’ve got a project on my mind.

At my job we like to mess around with side projects after hours. I’ve got some black filler and crystal clear wax that is supposed to be delivered today. Dave’s workbench top has seen better days so I figured I would skim the top with black filler, sand it smooth and wax the piss out of it. I did the same thing to my bench but I sprayed a few coats of poly instead of waxing it. Everybody thought I was crazy until I was done. I think it came out pretty damn nice for a workbench top, but not too nice that you don’t really want to work on it cus it’s so nice. Anyway, I think Dave will be pleasantly surprised come Monday morning😁.

Does anybody else still make or pimp out their stuff? Your van, front or back, inside or out? Your tools? Your workspace? Anything?

Must not be that much of a thing anymore because I do get some strange looks at the things I’ve made. Don’t care, those things literally make my life easier and they didn’t cost that much for materials or take that long to make. The router sled took me maybe an hour to build while I was BS’n with my buddy, all the others were each a day project.

Rusty, sorry about your phone getting stolen. I hope karma gets whoever it was. Glad you were able to get a new phone, but it still sucks losing the old one.

CJ, hope you are feeling better today.

Samsclub and chinese place yesterday. Today I'm resting and breaking up cat fights. It's been raining so kitties have a bit of cabin fever and Senator Snugglebum is being an ass. He attacked two of the female cats (not trying to mate with them-- actually wanting to fight them for no apparent reason) and his brothers took umbrage. Biscuits defended Ginger, got his ass whipped by Snugglebum and made a French retreat because Yasuke jumped in to fight Snugs. Then Gravy Jones jumped in to defend Bethesda when Snugs attacked her. It's weird because Snugglebum and Bethesda usually get along. They groom each other and cuddle but he's in a bad mood today.

I was trying to find the door lever for my bathroom earlier. Found 3 boxes of knobs and the 3rd was the right one. I couldn't remember why I had one of the knob sets and then remembered its for my bedroom door. The other knob set is for the guest bathroom-- which I really need to start working on. Need to use my Stanley Fatmax Fubar to demo the existing guest bathroom and to clear out all the junk in the hallway that my brother just shoved there.

As an aside, this gave me a chuckle

Thanks. Cricket was able to transfer my contacts and pictures, before they locked the old phone. It is just a paperweight to who ever has it. It is on a list that no company will activate. I did not know that the phone companies keep a list of stolen phones.

I didn't know they were able to retrieve the photos and contacts remotely like that. I wonder if whoever has it now will try to sell it to some unsuspecting rube or if they will try to use it for parts. My friend used to unlock phones and help set up used phones for people but he had someone who brought him a stolen phone and told them they were s.o.l. on getting it activated. I didn't know they could blacklist phones like that though. I wonder if that works if they change the sim card in it.

Been a lazy day watching Youtube videos.

Federal law now requires carriers to unlock phones.

That first step has a dark color on the leading edges. Can you explain more, or possible take a close up pic of this, and how it is done?

As said, beautiful work!
In earlier posts about this staircase from hell I posted pics of a cross section of this trim it is made in Minnesota I think it’s very narrow and has a very very fine gradient that fits under the LVT . I officially hate it charge a lot I did I charged 5000 to glue that and screw the trim on and worst part was they didn’t do the substructure properly out of birch and to exact specs it was a temp and in places the glass actually touches the steps not on purpose we just slammed the last parts together to meet a six month overdue deadline lol

Set up my Mullet today. Put a fresh filter and vac bag in my shop vac then got to work. Don’t know if it outperforms the Dust Deputy but it sure is real nice in that it connects to my shop vac damn near right out of the package, I didn’t have to fab or modify anything! Put the wheels on, attach 2 cuffs, cut a piece of pipe, hook up your hose and start sucking.

I spent a fair amount of time cleaning the shop today as well as using the Mullet for a couple of dust containment specific tasks, so that thing sucked up a little of everything. Screws, sawdust, crap that’s been underneath or behind something for months, I went after it all.

What I’ve noticed so far is anything super duper light will pass right through the cyclone and into the vac. I had a small pink floof of insulation on the floor that I sucked up, Floop! It’s so light it just goes right past the cyclone and gets sucked into the vac. The cellophane wrapper from a pack of cigarettes, floop, same thing. That won’t cyclone out, it’ll just pass on to the shop vac. Some other things of just the right size/weight will get stuck in a continuous cyclone. Screw? Rock? They won’t get sucked up or drop down, they just keep goin round in the cyclone until you shut off the shop vac or plug the hose long enough for the item to drop.
