When they don’t speak good English is when I know I’m in a real Mexican restaurant👍. Still haven’t figured out whether the red or the green salsa is the hot one. I think they try and trick me and the red and green salsas are both hot so I usually avoid the salsa altogether.

Went to a Hunan restaurant with my buddy a few years ago, we were the only white people in the whole place. Good food, right? Nope, that **** was so spicy that I couldn’t eat it. Now when we go out to eat and there is an option for how spicy you want your food I tell people I only want my food white people hot. One waiter laughed cus he knew exactly what I meant. A jalapeño is about the top of my hotness scale and I don’t even mess with the crazy little Asian peppers. Those things will mess you up.
I love hot stuff. But with my stomach issues, can't do it anymore.

I used to be able to eat spicy food. My dad could eat really spicy food-- like Thai chilis and stuff. My brother can eat the hot stuff like its nothing, but I developed an intolerance. Not only do I get sick to my stomach, I also have my nose start running profusely and get a migraine from any sort of pepper. Never liked jalepeno much bc it always tasted like cardboard to me. My best friend is actually allergic to them-- anaphylactic reactions.

The local restaurant is run by a Hispanic family. Best restaurant in town. Well, honestly, the only restaurant in town that I ever go to. LOL.

I didn't get much done yesterday since my brother woke me up at like 3am having a temper tantrum. He dropped his food taking it out of the microwave and spilled it. Then he was kicking stuff around, throwing things and screaming. I asked him to stop making a mess and he screamed at me an said "No!" and continued to make a bigger mess, called me a stupid *****, and generally had a meltdown. He even stomped on some of the food bowls and destroyed them. Fortunately for me, the dogs cleaned up most of the food mess. I made some faces at him to get him to start laughing and he hugged me afterward.

He's really upset bc the place he works at screwed him over and soft-demoted him over something that wasn't his fault, but he's the one who is getting punished for it. So, he works at an arcade with an adult's side and a kid's side. The kid's side is also a babysitting service and kids get locked in and are not allowed to leave. The kiosk on his side closed an hour before the kiosk on the kid's side. So, it was after 1am, he was closing down and was doing paperwork for closing in the office when the incident occurred. An employee (who is besties with the man supervisor-- bro's supervisor's supervisor) didn't follow protocol to make sure all kids were accounted for, check to see where they were, etc and just walked out and didn't close the gate right away. So a 6-yr-old boy walked right out. My brother was told that it was a 12-yr-old girl who acted like a ninja and slipped through in half a second and that the other employee was totally blameless, which was untrue. But allt he super's super could ask was where my brother was when the kid wandered into the adult arcade side. She found out he was in the office, but he was supposed to be in the office. She said that if he'd been out of the office he would've caught the kid. My brother pointed out to his super that if they actually staffed like they were supposed to and had one other employee there, it wouldn't have happened. At the time he didn't know the kid's side employee screwed up. Super's super announced that all non-supervisors were having their keys taken away and confiscated my brother's keys (to the office, prize bins, and other things he needs to open to do his job) and that from now on, anyone who didn't have keys would have to ask a super to open stuff for them. So, he was unable to do his job. The day he had the tantrum he found out that they didn't take keys away from anyone else and that he was the only one who had is keys taken so that he had no other choice but to believe the super's super blamed him. Nothing happened to the employee who actually let the kid out even though it was her fault. Bro had to ask people who were the same level as him to come unlock doors for him and he found it humiliating. He said everyone he talked to said it was stupid and made no sense for his keys to be taken. So, he's already put in for other jobs and last night he gave notice to his supervisor. Said he can't work like that and will not work for someone who doesn't trust or respect him bc it means he will never get the promotion to supervisor that they'd been promising him. He was in a bit of a better mood last night. He cleaned all of his belongings out of the office, said he's going to "act (his) wage" for the rest of the time he's there, and that the people at the new job are hoping he will get hired with them. It's still at the same place, but a different department. He was already doing the supervisory tasks-- had to train people, was doing spreadsheets & closing, and was the only one his direct supervisor had trusted to do certain things. Which he will now not be doing since he needed access to the locked areas to do them. He feels bad for his direct super. She's been great to him, but he also noted they were giving him too few hours to make it worth the gas to drive up there and his hours will get cut back more when summer ends and corporate keeps wanting a larger cut of the pay at the expense of the employees.

Trimming out the trailer today. Don’t pay no attention to my crumpled nail. Clearly it showed me.😳 The floor has a coastal color to it with wispy streaks of grey. I made some 1/4 round out of pine and then gently made some random wispy streaks with grey stain before hitting it with some natural. Almost makes me think of beetle kill pine with its bluish grey wisps.

I never did get around to making a portable mini chop saw...... On rollers, something small enough that it would max out at 3 1/2 inch base. Battery powered and you'd drag it along with you making cuts. Maybe a smaller one for metals and quarter round.
I think, but don't always get beyond that point. 😁
You got one fun job CJ.

Have you ever wanted carpet metal that perfectly matched your LVP plank floor.
Yeah, me too. 😉

I finally got installing some Mohawk LVP yesterday. I used my 3 plane laser to find the best wall to run parallel to. No walls are parallel to each other. 😣
I chose a starting point and made up a story board from sections of plank. I tape 10 or 12 pieces together and place one end of that strip on my estimated starting point, then use a pen and mark the opposite end....... Then slide my story board forward, line it up with the pen mark and make another mark with my pen.
On my journey to the far wall, I can tell where any plank seam will be in relation to other walls and doorways. If I find a 3/4" sliver somewhere, I can readjust my starting point accordingly.
The nearest arrow is about 26 feet away from the farthest one.

Here's how close I will come to the mark I put at the farthest end of the floor a few days ago. It about splits the line. I've used a storyboard on every install I've ever done and this is why.... This method dates back to Pergo Original. 😱

If I make my 1/4 round small enough, 1/4” or 5/16”, then these hand chompers are perfect. Anything bigger and you are going to either spend time cleaning up your miters because the blade deflects, or you just bite the bullet and use run back n forth to the saw.

Highup, did you peel/cut the top laminated layer off the lvp to wrap over that metal trim piece?
The storyboard thing is very interesting. I just realized that I'm sure the walls in my laundry area are not parallel so that is going to suck when I need to do the flooring. I'm going to have to do quite a few repairs on the subfloor and (what do you call the floor directly under the flooring & underlayment but above the subfloor?)

It's been so hot I haven't been very productive. I refilled water, fed kitties, cooked a few times, changed Mom's insulin cartridge and tubing, and I can't remember what else. Oldest cat is spoiled and I had to hold his food bowl for him while he ate, had to push food back to the middle of the bowl, and then add some water to help him wash it down. My toothless cat didn't want me to hold his bowl, but I pushed food to the center and gave him some water with his food.

My brother was in a better mood today since he's had several job offers at the casino in different areas. They really want him to come back as a cook but he wants the security job because its the highest paying job starting at $14/hr. He makes less than $12/hr right now. In our area, most people make under $8/hr so $14/hr is considered fairly high-- even though the taxes and prices are still much higher in comparison.

Yeah, just peeled the decorative wear off of a plank. I applied a special double faced tape on the metal and applied the decorative film onto the metal. It's not a fast process. The film is very stiff and you need a heat gun and a LOT of heat to make it flexible. You wouldn't believe how much heat that material can handle. Once heated and cooled into position, the decorative film won't try to be flat again or undo itself.
Heat it, form it and cool it ........then it will stay in that shape. I'd have to charge $50 per doorway to make it worthwhile.
...not unreasonable tho factoring in the price of the manufacturers matching trims.
They don't make a metal trim like this and they never will.
It was an experiment and appears to work.

Any perks above the casino's hourly rate?
