I wonder what the recycled material content is in that product. I’ve seen that happen with products that have recycled material in them. I googled that product and it says it has a fiberglass core (smart base) for dimensional stability but I didn’t see it say it has 100% virgin PVC. Every time you process plastic, PVC, it gets weaker and suffers from thermal fatigue. So the more recycled material the product has in it will cause it to be a weaker, less dimensionally stable product. I’ve seen Traffic Master (HD product) look exactly like that at a beach house. High recycled material product. The sun light shining in the windows caused the product to expand and contract and turned the product to complete crap. I wonder if that particular product has a higher recycled plastic content but they use a fiberglass mesh in it to try and overcome the weakness from using recycled material to give it dimensional stability. You mentioned 2012? That’s about when this crap was starting to come on strong yet manufacturers didn’t know about all the problems from using recycled materials yet. So my guess is that is the problem.
This little floor gets very little direct sunlight even though it has windows facing west. The room has lower than normal ceilings in between the little chair and table in front of the window and the height of the window, if it's tiny amount of sunlight in late afternoon can destroy a floor then this material shouldn't even be manufactured.
This is one I showed a little while back that is a cortec product. It's also one of the thin materials that has gotten so popular. This one has been installed for about a year or thereabouts. It's supposed to be a very dense product that resists heavy loads and indentation. The lady is in a wheelchair that has really large tires on it and she's not a tiny woman herself. Even though I believe there were installation issues and it wasn't leveled properly. That in itself doesn't explain the cupping, or at least any cupping caused by sunlight. This one gets zero sunlight.
I just think making these thin materials is a stupid idea. The least they should do is install and identical layer on the bottom similar to what they do or did with laminates.

I haven't seen this issue with the thick laminates only these skinny ones. I've told the shop that these floors require more prep work which doesn't make them cheaper and if prep work isn't done those wimpy joints are not going to hold up. I guess that's what happened when you put a harder surface on top of a softer back side. Who would have thunk that?

My son never fails to surprise me. He is autistic. About a year ago, I asked what he was doing. He taught himself to read Japanese. This morning he is learning computer coding. His IQ is supposed to be above 150.

How do I stopped at birth most people are giving the same number of marbles. It's just a display differently in different people. I couldn't even learn to speak Spanish if I had a teacher. That's pretty incredible.
Don't feel bad. I had high school and college Spanish, and I can read it a little.
My wife and daughter both deal with autistic kids as well as other differently abled kids. The autistic kids often don’t fall under what we plebs consider ‘normal’ categories in life but they definitely excel in other areas. Highly intelligent but socially awkward is common.
Apparently we plebs are called neuro typical and autistic people are called neuro diverse. Fun fact I’ve learned from my wife and daughter, neuro typical people get offended when told the truth and neuro diverse people get offended when lied to. That explains why the average customer we have to deal with, neuro typical, wants to be lied to and told what they want to hear. Who knew. Well now you do.

Workin on my own place today. We’re turning an office into a bedroom. This door wasn’t here before but now it is. The tile pattern doesn’t line up from the bedroom to the hallway so now I’ve got to find a way to make it not look stupid. I have enough extra tile to fill in but wondering how to deal with the mismatch at the doorway. I thought about putting a 1.5” header piece under the door to transition the two rooms together. Thoughts?
That was what my brain came up with too buddy, I do not know what else you really could do.
There are some people on the autism spectrum who are what were referred to as "savants" where the are very skilled or very intelligent in some way, but not all are like that. I know a few who do not have any savant qualities. Just like neuro-typical people, there are different levels.
I actually prefer to be told the truth rather than lied to about things.
We have a judge named Judy in town. She ran for district judge and won over a guy who really trash-talked her. The guy is a court appointed attorney for unfortunate defendants. He was so salty about losing the election he didn't even show up for a client's trial. He was so focused on his campaign that he wasn't in the office and wasn't answering calls or returning calls from clients so his client had never even met him or heard from him when he got to his trial date.
I prefer Judge Milian on the People's Court. She was a prosecutor in the past and her husband (who is now a judge) was a cop.
My only thoughts on that tile layout for the doorway is to have a transition piece in the middle, even if it's not ideal. Alternatively, you could trim the tiles on either side of a gap and have a line of smaller tiles in the threshold. It would be like in bathrooms where they have a decorative border or divider of smaller tiles to split up a wall or something. I hope that makes sense. Something like 1" or smaller or larger depending on your style.

I figured I’d make a header strip out of the same tile so it at least looks the same color and you don’t trip over it.
You cannot do it with the same tile man, then it will look too much like an accident. Or like there was once a wall there and you tore it down, something like that.
Alright. So I gotta get some sort of feature strip or something different at the very least
I would. I'm not a designer, or a woman or probably even right.... but I think trying to not be obvious about it would make it more obvious.... maybe?
