Zan, the blue tape marks the places where you would stand if you wanted to fall through the floor. The homeowner put those there so that any guests would know not to step there. Do not step, was written on the tape.
One of the first things I did before doing any work was to open the access panel outside, crawl under the house and pull down some insulation so that I could have some rough idea how extensive the damage was and if it included the floor joists. The joists were perfectly fine. The job would have been a lot easier if the heater was removed and all the boards were removed from the wall. Initially I was going to unwire the heater and get it out of the way then take off some window trim and remove a few boards. The heaters wire terminals are a little bit corroded so I decided not to mess with those at all. This home is right on the bluff above the beach so the salt air eats everything. I'm going to suggest to the homeowner, that they have an electrician come in and look at the heaters to be sure they're all safe. The whole house has these oil-filled Intertherm heaters.

Hopefully they picked out a good name for the race like the..
Ford F-250 4x4 500 or the Fishy McFlatface 500.

.........no, those sound like college bowl games.
The bathroom feels more like a lot of dinkin' around than a lot of work. It certainly testing my creativity. One of these days I'm even going to put the new Marmoleum on the floor
How about the "I'm here to kick ass and chew bubblegum and I'm all out of bubblegum 500"

Only at a racetrack will you see a BBQ like this. These people are clearly on a whole different level!

I seen a couple bad ass smoker's when I was visiting the father in law in NC.
Looked like they were made from old propane tanks. I thought to myself that they would have to be feeding a lot of folks to justify firing that thing up.

.....you want one don't ya? 😁
If you need a new motor for your van, you better grab one quick. He's only building 10 motors this year. The block is machined from a single chunk of aluminum.
Yes, $89,000 is expensive, but isn't it purdy? I'm sure there are engine mount adapters for Ford's. 😉

Went grocery shopping yesterday, it is odd what they don't have. No frozen carrots. No olives. Almost no cereal. Very little chicken and 3 small chicken breasts were $8.50. Bacon was $12 a lb.

Another real stupid/silly question Why did you cut out the cedar replacing it with ply instead of smoothing the upstand area with a product like Feather Finish? Marmo hides a lot
And I meant a 6 inch or so wide piece of ply behind the the 2 pieces where you joined the wall pieces

It's tongue and groove boards and the house is not heated year round so the boards move back and forth, the corners came loose and none of the current vinyl flooring isn't here to the cedar. It's either from board movement or because of the tannins in the cedar not holding on to the adhesive or maybe some other issue. Initially I was going to do the walls making up that double outside corner so that the corner wouldn't come apart again because of the wood movement. I had to tear this part of the wall apart to do the floor repair and I wanted to see if there was any other damage on the other side of the window in this 5 1/2 ft long wall I had most of it cut out so I just finished off cutting the rest so the homework could see that there was no more damage on that exterior wall. This is the south side of the house and all the winter storms here on the coast blows straight at that wall.
Basically there's a 6-ft wall underneath the counter and there's two more sections behind and alongside of the toilet each of them being 3 ft long. It's just not that much more effort to finish cutting this out. So basically there's a lot of moisture here on the coast and the owners come down or their family comes down to use the home now and then. I don't know for sure exactly what caused the vinyl flooring to not stick to the cedar but it's going to stick this time. 😉
Has a side note the cedar cuts quite easily with an aggressive blade.
Currently though I'm trying to avoid work. It's 3:00 in the afternoon so I guess that's working for me. We had some really stormy weather yesterday and it's pretty windy today but without the rain.

I forgot about all that
All you need is to do is throw away that builders square you use as a straight edge :)

Bacon just hit $8 a pound where I live. Yep, no more for me. Hell, pretty soon, we will all be standing in the government cheese line.
Thank you Biden voters!

Our government just dropped the tax on petrol 25 cents per litre
Food has gone up heaps here recently if one can buy it. Cat moaning as there is no cat food so it has to have what it gets :)
