Started off the day by replacing the filters on my HEPA vac. I put a vacuum bag in it as well. The suculation is strong again. 💪🏻

Back to the countertop at hand. It’s for our new shop so it doesn’t matter, but it does. I’d say it matters more because this is the countertop the boss will be looking at every day. I took my time and routed down the sink. It came out perfect. I didn’t even cuss that much. I did have to take a break from time to time because my hands got tired of holding the router’s balls (the handle are wooden balls) so tight for so long.

After that was done we heated up some mineral oil and bees wax to make our own butcher block butter. Super simple to make. We hot waxed the top then buffed it in. I hit the sink while I was at it. Came out damn smooth.

Holy Fudge! Rotten *******s 😡 and I just completed my Medicare application. 🤞Maybe its time to move to Canada and get the universal healthcare.

Good luck Rusty, Maybe time to open a go-fund-me account 🤷🏻‍♂️

My sisters brother in law had a stroke in Canada, and had a week stay with a procedure for half the bill from a Phila hospital that only monitored him for 3 days afterwards. He saved the insurance company lots of money by being in Canada.
You'll have to wait 4 1/2 months to see a doctor after collapsing from a heart attack.
....on the bright side, you get "free" medical care.

I guess, because he was an American, with good insurance.🤷🏻‍♂️

I wonder how Debbie + Dave are getting along up there. That video she shot of Dave sliding the carpet cuts down a customers icy driveway was hilarious 😂

Rusty, I know it's a pain but see if you can get your doctor or the doctor's staff to argue with Medicare for you. Sometimes stressing that you actually need that med can get them to change their minds. My mother has had to call her insurance to argue with them herself a few times when they refused to pay for stuff. But it's different with meds, need to get pharmacist and/or doctor to back you up on it. They bank on people just rolling over and not fighting back. Although, probably wouldn't be a good idea to say you'd go full Louigi on them if they don't pay for it.

Been tired. Taking out trash, taking care of pets, cleaning up after my brother, managing Mom's insulin pump stuff, etc.

Got up early and took my brother to return his sleep study equipment and went to Samsclub. Swung my friend's house on the way to drop something off.
Friend's wife got some bad news. When she and her exbf split up he wanted to keep her car and they agreed he'd refinance it in his name and make payments. He never refinanced and he just missed a payment and it dinged her credit and is the first black mark on her record. The next payment is due tomorrow. If he misses it the car could be repo'd and it would be on her record and might prevent her from getting the FHA loan. So we're trying to figure out what she can do to stop that from happening. I suggested calling the loan company and reporting that the ex, who is now hostile, has the vehicle and key and she doesn't know where it is but she would resume payments if she got the car back and maybe they could help. Alternatively, she could be asked to be taken off the loan and sign a release of liability form with the DMV-- i actually advised her to do that a long time ago but for some reason she didn't get around to it. I really hope this doesn't screw them out of getting a house. $6k is still owed on the car. I said that if she gets it back she should sell it and pay off the loan.

Bit the bullet and bought the Harbor Freight 1/2" drill that they never put on sale.
They put the hammer drill version in every:

"buy one, get a second tool free" sale.

They have these sales frequently. Often, it's a:

"buy a 4ah battery and fast charger and get a free tool".

They usually have 10 or so tools to chose from.

This 20v drill says it will drive 350 fasteners per charge. 1200 inch lbs of torque.
argh, argh argh (Tim the tool man). Potent sucker and it's solid, a bit on the heavy side. The price is actually fantastic when not on sale. It is one nice drill.

I'm giving my old Craftsman 19.6v drill and driver to my nephew, since now I have a matching HF drill and driver.

I have two Craftsman batteries and I have two identical Craftsman drills and two drivers.
If I can find another charger, I will have two complete sets. One for my nephew and one for a friend.
It Christmas. ...giving away my old crap makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. 🤗
.....actually, I love that craftsman stuff.
I had duplicates because I saw a second set at Habitat Restore and bought them as backups. They still work as good as new.
I just wanted one complete system.... One charger.
I donated my air impact tools to Habitat. One 3/8" and two 1/2 inch impact wrenchs. They stuck $40 tags on them 😳
....it took a while, but they're gone. 👍
Man, I'd never go back to air tools. Lithium is a game changer. It took a lot for me to make change. Mainly it's because HF is so cheap to get into. Their quality is at least as good as DeWalt and Milwaukee.
All their Hercules tools are brushless and have a full 5 year no questions asked guarantee.... You don't even need your receipt.

I forgot to mention, because I started rambling, about scoring at Habitat today at 4:58 pm
I dashed in to see if a Craftsman 19.6v battery charger was in the bin.
That's the only reason I popped in. I suck in 4 minutes before they closed.
Nope, just as suspected, no charger. 🤧
..... but this was there. It wasn't there yesterday (ask me how I know)
Holy crappola, $25 😳
.... obviously never used 😳
....made in the USA 😱
What a score. When was the last year of made in USA Roberts kickers?
This would buff out like chrome with very little effort.
(Yes, Harbor Freight has buffers) 😂🤣😂

My brother found a USA made Robert’s groove bottom iron for 5 bucks at a yard sale almost new almost no melt in the tray so happy it’s twice the iron the new ones are

Bought a Roberts at a flea market and used it for 20 years.
What do burnt fleas smell like 😜

Hope you’re feeling better soon Rusty.

I scored on a Crain Deluxe wall trimmer (free) from my brothers old tool box. It’s only been sitting under his drafting table for 20 years 😂 now all I need is a young man’s body
