We were just reeling in from a day of fishing on Lake Shasta, ready to tie up and BBQ some steaks and saw this. A nice way to end the day.

Yes, During the summer.
Shasta is one of those places that makes it really easy to take pictures.
Unfortunately, the lake is 128 foot down right now. We're having a bit of a drought around here lately. We're hoping for a really wet winter.

As I left the job site yesterday in Reedsport, I saw the exact same clouds and pink colors in the sky. It must have been a really, really long and slow moving front coming in so that we could both see it. Pretty neat, but it disappeared really fast.

I did fish Lake Rotorua up where you are, then Wakatipu and Te Anau down below. Some really nice lakes Jon. All the other times I was fishing the salt. We'll be back. Don't know when, but we'll be back.

We have only 3 or 4 days at Vegas, we should have made it more as I would love to meet highup and catch up with you again Darol on that fishing trip. We are going to be away for just over a month as it is

Tell ya what. You can come here during your winter and I'll head down there in mine. If I could afford it, that's exactly what I would do. A gold miner friend of mine here does that. Seems to like it. Lots of gold to be found on the south island.
