Found a couple of fun ones a random stack of slides this weekend.
The firs one has me stumped. It was taken in August, so that was probably during the meteor shower week of August 11th and 12th............ if so, I'm wondering if it was static on a blank/unshot film frame? There's always a little lightning that time of the year and if so, that would explain static buildup on the film. It ain't purdy, I'm just trying to figure out what cause this to appear.
Shorty after I captured the heron in flight, it burst into flames. :D

OK, I got alien art work........ I always wanted a good photo of saucers or aliens........ never got a photo of either in all my years campin' up in them thar hills.
Here's an old photo on the nearby dunes. As the fog or rain seeps down into the sand and hardens it each day, the sand forms some neat shapes when the sun and wind come up to dry and weather away the edges. I've never totally understood the layers and their time frame. I suppose each is formed with a wet layer occurring from overnight fog or rainfall, then a windblown layer of dry sand for a few days or a week, then back to fog or rain. I wonder how many weeks or months this scene represents. The sand isn't hard like sandstone. It's just wet and firm enough to hold its shape.......... until it drys and turns back into plain old sand.
