Many preachers don't even know what is in the Bible.
I’m sure that is true, especially with that background in theology. However, Come on Rusty, step out of the objective comfort zone of facts and share some subjective thoughts…….Let’s say a friend of yours got evangelized and you saw him walking the neighborhood with pamphlets. Wouldn’t you hope the neighbors would be polite to him rather than stern ? And if the answer is yes, then how do we empower the neighbors and ourselves to have a default program that mentors politeness, over aggression?
And since you have a teaching background, maybe you could start a neighborhood class on politeness. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Going door to door for any reason irritates me.

Matthew 6:5-6
"And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you."

How about the local college cheerleading squad looking for donations 😜

Don’t worry, I’ll come back with something real serious shortly. 🤣 …. but in the meantime, after the daydreaming is over, 😜who wants to take a stab at why the Bible has conflicting messages? 🤔

There are exceptions. Years ago one of the neighbor girls were going around door to door selling cookie dough. I was nice but said no thank you and closed the door. The wife asked me who it was and I told her. I got my ass chewed for not supporting our neighbors and she made me walk over to their house and buy some cookie dough. So if it’s a kid selling something to support a school activity or a sport, I’ll generally buy something from ya because I believe in supporting the cause.

Thinking about it, those candy bars you would get for a buck from some kid playing baseball were decent, or at least that’s how I remember them. They weren’t wide, they were thick and I like the ones with almonds in them. Now I want a candy bar.
