My wife had brought home some jalapeno poppers a while back. I thought they were OK, but not great. I told her I used to make them quite a bit back in the day. Easy to make, jalapeno's cream cheese, a little this and that, and some thin sliced bacon. Into the barrel until the bacon gets crisp. That was a month ago or so, now she has me make them pregame on Sundays. " 35 years.... and I just now find out you can make these???" She never asked, how would I know. I made 9, thats how many slices of bacon come in a pack, lol. These survived.

Have worked for an eye doctor a number of times over the years and his wife is a fantastic cook. She always seemed to bring a plate of warm cookies and some coffee when I was working there.
One day, she made up a bunch of these and somehow did them on the barbecue outdoors. Wowza, those were good. Yours look like the ones she made.
I don't know if she made them entirely in the barbecue or just finished them off there to add a little smokey flavor.

I seen those little smoke boxes at one of the home centers. They look pretty cool.
I had a bag of apple wood chips in my hand yesterday to buy and put them back because I remembered I have a couple big chunks of apple and cherry wood at the house that someone gave me when they cut down some trees at their house. I was going to get some pieces ready for the weekend but do you think I can find them... Hell no!

Their like 12" diameter and about 2" thick.....and I have like 10 of them!

How the frick can you loose a chunk of a log? Lol

When you find them be sure and tell us how much flavor the Husqvarna oil adds. 😁

I like Apple of Cherry wood for pork, chicken, fish. Use oak for beef. I use a sleeve I made up, put it in the center of my fire basket, pour briquettes around, pull out the sleeve. I have good air control, you need to keep that smoke thin and near invisible for best results. did babybacks last weekend; 49ers squeaked out a win against the Packers, so they're on the menu again for game day. Not that I'm superstitious, lol.
