That looks delicious, Havasu!
I love saffron rice.

I wish we had more variety in restaurants here. There's a Mexican restaurant that opened up that has great quesadilla rellena (or was it relleno?). It's the one without the pepper that has refried beans and meat in it. They had quesa fresco, sour cream, and lettuce on the side. Next time I'll ask for extra cheese though.

I've spent my day thus far washing the bedding from the bed my sister has been sleeping on. The kittens keep using it as a litterbox despite having a clean litterbox in the room. I guess they need a 2nd box.

Merry Christmas

Had a sammich and tinkered with my router lift insert today............ I added a reinforcement to the lift lock clamp and drilled some holes in the router body to position the router for repeatable installation and allignment.
Once I got that done, I set up my dial indicator to see how out of alignment the router was to the lift's top plate. ........dang!
The router was out of square to the table plate by .038 from one side to the other. :(
In layman's terms, .038" is the thickness of 10 sheets of computer paper. Not much you say? Stack 10 sheets of paper on a table and run your finger across them.
In other words, that's about 1/32 of an inch in 10 inches.
I was expecting nearly perfect flatness....... or perpendicularism? Dang.
I shimmed the router in it's holder....... made a tiny bit of correction. :(

Then a wild idea came in a vision ...............and with a 1/4 turn to one of the 4 table of a support nuts, it corrected the perpendicular alignment to about .002" in 360 degrees. That's less out of square than the thickness of a sheet of paper in 10 inches.
Dang I'm good! (lucky) I'm a very happy camper tonight.

I also discovered with my dial indicator, that the large machine screw that raises and lowers the router is 18 tpi. (threads per inch) I thought it was a 16 tpi..... meaning 16 turns equals one inch in height.
18 tpi means more accuracy. 1/4 turn in adjustment of the screw (.014") equals about 1/2 the thickness of a a dollar bill. (way more accuracy than I'll ever need with a router)
Long story short............. I really don't care if anyone understands any of my ramblings tonight... I'm just sort of giddy with todays happnins'
Did I say, Damn, I'm good? .....oh yes, ...........I guess I did. :D
One of these days I'll get some images of the contraption for ya.

Jerry................ if you ever check in here.............. Unlike days of old, you aren't gonna get any credit for the LifterDown 1800. :D

You explained it in a way that made sense so I understand. That was actually educational. I wasn't aware of tpi and so forth. Using paper thickness really helped to visualize the increments.
Excellent! I'm glad you got it fixed up the way you wanted.

What kind of sammich did you have?

I had a black forest ham with swiss cheese the other day.

Today I had to check the breaker box. Something my sister plugged in tripped one of the breakers. She's not going to plug that particular thing in again. I need to get my electrician friend to come look at the wiring situation when he has the chance. Just crammed a bunch of Mom's laundry in to the washing machine. I think it has 7 cuft capacity. She expected me to magically fix the dryer vent that got torn by a possum, but the dryer is sort of in an alcove and I can't access the vent. When I redo the laundry room I will make it so the dryer vent is accessible and I will have enough space to open the dryer and washing machine drawers while standing in front of them and not have to step to the side.

My friend tore the wall panels off of the useless bathroom in the hallway, but right now it is crammed with my brother's laundry and junk. Got a look at the plumbing for the shower-- looks like some sort of metal but I can't tell if it is copper. I'll post a pic later. No shutoffs on it above the floor. I'll have to send someone under to check to see if there are shutoffs underneath.

I went for a walk with my sister-- quarter of a mile each way. I tapped out after the first lap but she walked two more. I'm really out of shape. If we walked slower I could probably have continued walking, but she has too quick of a pace and I don't have ideal shoes for fast-walking. Probably won't be any walks today because it's raining.

Better to have them behind the toilet .. Should have a main shut off somewhere to .

I had a House burn to the ground from a so called Electrician . They burn behind the walls before they pop out ..

Tuna. I thought that the adjusting screw was 16 tpi. I set up my dial indicator and rotated the screw one turn. The gauge read .055 I divided 1 by 16 = .0625. hmm, that ain't right. So I tried 20 ...nope, that's .05
Anyhow, a finer thread per inch means finer adjustability. I'm happy.
Paper is thicker than you think.

10 pm now and it's 47.1 Today's high was 48 and this morning it got down to 30. Highs about 45ish and lows near 30 are pretty normal for this time of year.
