Mark what are you doing working on the weekend..... To I mean floor considered like mowing the lawn or polishing your wheels. That's just sick.
We finished the theater on Saturdays and today I went down to the warehouse and cut strips of carpet and pad for a stairway tomorrow.
I should be mowing the lawn or polishing my wheels.

Here’s for @highup. We had to route some dados in pine boards for some beams were making. Thought I would share what I have going on and maybe it will help/ inspire others out there looking to be more efficient with how they tackle things. Working at a comfortable height is safer and more efficient. Getting up n down all day long takes a beating on the ol body. I know you know.

This is my table saw/ router set up. Like most of you out there space in the van is at a premium. So if you’re gonna put something in there you gotta make it count. I have a Rousseau table saw stand with an out feed table. I routed a place for my router lift to be incorporated into the mix without having to have another something (router table) in my van. I made the router fence myself and it works like a pimp. I still have to clamp on finger boards but I’ll eventually get around to fixing that. When I’m routing longer pieces I flip my out feed table to the side to act as an in feed table and the table saw itself acts as an out feed table. With 16’ boards you still need 3 people to run a piece through. I have a foot peddle to turn the router on n off. It’s been a few years in the making with changes and adjustments along the way but so far it’s a pretty decent set up that is easily set up and broken down so you can do it all over again tomorrow.

You got me on that set up c.j.
I like that foot pedal also. It's a rare day that I've ever need a router table, let alone on a jobsite. What I'd use it for most of the time might be making custom trim pieces or reducers. The router is just a porter cable 960 and that's definitely not up near the shaper power level.
I did a search on this site and I couldn't find pictures of my router setup. Somebody's hiding them from the search box.
Just so happens that my phone reminded me of photos that I took one year ago today......
That would be me nearing the final stages of my router table build.
Here's a crappy picture of the router lift hanging underneath the table. It doesn't have legs yet because I'm trying to think up something detachable. The framework and legs on yours give me some ideas.

I bought a piece of anodized square aluminum tubing from a second hand store. I cut it into pieces, stack them on top of each other to make the adjustable part of the fence. Some 3/16" thick angle aluminum makes up the main part of the fence. The fence, being hollow allowed me to hook up a vacuum system right next to the bit. Typical routers have the vacuum system directly behind the fence instead of inline with the router bit.
I think outside the box and sometimes around the corner I can't help it. 😁
Anyway I lined the lower piece of square tubing on each end of the fence with velcro to create a seal for the vacuum connection. The vacuum connection is just some PVC bits and pieces coupled to a nice piece of vacuum hose salvage off a household vaccum.
I made an l shaped piece of aluminum to slide into the velcro on the fence, connected that to the vacuum hose and connected each hand to the PVC collaboration. My shop vac plugs into that.
It really sucks

The last thing I added was an outfeed table that can be clamped in place. It has an easily adjustable leg on it to make it parallel with the table if the surface you're working on isn't perfectly flat.
The leg does not have to be directly in line with the bit. This for some reason they're doing a wider panel, the leg can be shifted wherever support is needed. I've had this contraption for a year and I've only used it three times. I might be tempted to use it more if I can figure out a leg system for it instead of setting the router table on top of my saw table. It works but it's a bit awkward. Yes it really needs some legs.

Everything is a work in progress. I used to set my saw on the ground back in the day. Then I found a wooden wire spool that was the right height and size to set my saw on. I carried that wooden wire spool around for a couple years until a friend gave me a beat up used Rousseau table saw stand that he found on one of his job sites. Of course my saw didn’t fit in it but it was so apparently awesome to me that I ordered the correct one for my saw right then n there. That was maybe 10 years ago. Sad thing is I didn’t break down and get the accompanying out feed table until this year. Wish I woulda done that sooner. I’ll get some pics of my router fence for ya when I get to work in a few hours. My new light for my dust hood showed up yesterday so there’s another win for Rousseau.

I’m using a Bosch 1617 for my router so nothing special there.

CJ, I joined a router forum before deciding to build my lift. I already had my Porter Cable router. My lift has a couple of drawbacks. It only fits one router, and I also never gave enough thought to the fact that half inch shank router bits are so much taller. There's not enough adjustability in height to use a straight shank other than trueing up an edge. One thing that works nicely is the adjustability of those two fence pieces made of stacked square tubing. They are straight and true, so I can put two thin shims behind one set, and use the router as a planer to straighten an edge. That's probably where those half inch bits would work best. My project was as much a contest with myself than anything. I spent a year making it...... Just to do a single laminate repair. 😁
I think the Bosch router that you have was the one that was most popular on that router website. That was the golden one. I bought the mutt. I bought a second 960 at a pawn shop for 50 or 60 bucks. When running, it actually has a better sound than my new one. 😁 My new one has a different dialect than the older one I bought at the pawn shop. I think that's why the older guys on the router forum didn't like it. 😁

Finally got my wife to stop and eat at the truck stop. Imagine a place full of farmers, construction workers and other rednecks. A semi pulls in. A guy, probably mid 20s gets out, wearing shorts, sandals, knee high socks, lots of bling and a BLM face mask. I think he felt uncomfortable. He didn't stay to eat.

I did that last year, saddest thing I have ever done and I swore never ever again.... then 3 months later I had a new dog. A part of me still resents that choice.
Sorry to hear.

Sorry to hear that Mark. It is tough. We had a dog over 16 years. One night she laid across my feet and passed. my wife had already had another dog for about a year. This one is now 7.
