Chris, I don’t like loading the scraper, getting it into the house and the potential damage to poorly set tile, then potential of hitting something in the house, pipes close to drywall, etc. yes, the truck and trailer stay attached almost all the time, except estimates and couple days off. The other truck going to shop for heater core(1200$) then A/C so I can hop in that, I called my regular mechanic and he said he didn’t have the manpower to do both, and the speedometer computer chip. I don’t like disconnecting trailer either, minor hassles but still.

Puttin a move on 320 LF of 7.25” base today. Got my anti booger dust hood in action.

That's a really neat hood for the chop saw. The lighting is a fantastic idea.
I like your for the stupid plumbing location on the toilet. Nobody forced you to do that did they?
I think it'll be a kick in the ass to sit coffee and watch you work. you're set up for a production, something I've never been able to do.
....oh, and when I say watch you work, I don't mean to help you, I honestly mean sitting in a chair and watch. 😁
Great work. That's way beyond the type of stuff that I do.

I finish up my last three stairs today and then had four other jobs to look at while I was out of town..... By out of town I mean 25 miles not 100. 😉
I'm guessing the first time this set of stairs was done it was just waterfalled. The next installer did cap and band, but didn't remove the tax strip on a riser. Oh well, it's gone now.
The carpet was a woven dense polypropylene. The bullnose and risers on the sides of the carpet we're relatively consistent but varied a little bit from step to step. I did the steps one at a time starting from the top and going down. I used the sealer tip in my glue gun and seal three sides of each step before installing.
Way too many hours for a single set of steps.

Being woven even my stair stretcher didn't want to grip into this material.
I ended up setting the back of the stair tread onto the tack strip with just enough to tuck in then walked it in so it would stay put on the back of the tread. I cut each stair section long because the only way I felt I could stretch this one, was by standing on the carpet to pull it downwards. While stretching the carpet in this manner I put sheetrock nails across the nose of each step to hold the tiny bit of tension I was getting with my weight. Once I got all the way across the step I could tuck it under the nose and staple it, then pull out the sheetrock nails. This is one of those wovens that does not stretch in length or width...... OK, warp and weft in case there is times in. 😁
initially the customer was b***** because it wasn't going to get done in one day. Her husband told me she's thrilled to death with the work and appreciated the time I spent to do it. Then he hands me 20 bucks and said, here, this is for lunch. Nice people I enjoyed working for them.

Man how I hate lookie lou’s in my way when I’m tryin to bust a move. Don’t mind you watchin, just don’t be in my way. I’ve had several occasions where I’ve set a chair somewhere for granny to sit so she could watch me do my thing but wasn’t in my way. It’s a win win for everybody. Besides, do you really wanna piss off the person who’s writing the check?

The toilet supply line usually gets some sort of trim piece to finish it off. This way that trim piece has something flat to sit on. Looks so much better. If I just ‘case it out’ ahead of time. It gets caulked n painted the first go around and saves me and the painters from going back and doing it on punch list.

People have asked me if I normally pack my tools up every night. Yes I do so don’t worry I’ll be back tomorrow but if you see me packing my tools up for lunch...
I have worked places where I packed them for lunch so I would have them. I have had stuff stolen while I went to the truck to get something.

I need to get me one of those!
Do you suppose if I got two it would work better?

I had a bag phone stolen from the time we unload a piece of carpet and took it in a dropped it and back to the van for the next piece. This was at a church.

We were doing an apt. building. My son was working one floor down from me. He came up to ask me a question and the tools were gone when he went back down.

CJ, that floating floor looks great!
I would not want to be up on scaffolding that high. Never been a fan of heights.

Highup, I'm still envious of that laminate you used on that router table. Also, for some reason my dumba$$ thought you were talking about computer routers, not the power tool routers and I was confused for a moment. LOL. I wish I could find that pattern for a decent price. Although, a nice country blue/white marbled one would be cool too.

Havasu, I've had that feeling about not wanting to get more pets after the heartache of losing beloved ones, but I'm glad I didn't stick to that. There are so many who need good loving homes, but I can understand if you don't get another dog after that. It's so painful to lose them.

Today was a bit futile. Friend was supposed to fix the plumbing up but had limited time. Wasn't his fault things didn't work out. I got up early, we got breakfast, grabbed some stuff from the hardware store, headed back here, and he figured out what he needed to do (or so he thought-- he had the wrong location for the washing machine plumbing). Fortunately, he didn't cut anything. Could not find pex cinch tool anywhere. I searched inside the house, in the bin where we put the supplies in the shed, and in the truck. But I was distracted because my cow was trying to get up my butt. She kept bumping my backside with her head because she wanted attention. She was so excited about me driving the truck into the back that she was circling it and jumping up and down. I had to stop and pet her for awhile. Went back into town to see if we could find another pex cinch tool. Stopped at Tractor Supply first and no luck but we found some nice stuff on clearance and I grabbed cow feed.

Then back to the hardware store. Friend started going in, I said I was going to take one last look for the tool without the cow bumping me. I found it under a jumpstarter under the seat. I ran in with it to tell my friend I found it & didn't need to buy one. He said good thing bc they were $75. Got back to the house and then realized the PVC glue had completely dried up. Had multiple containers of it but all had gone bad. So, we've rescheduled for another day when he won't need to get back home so soon. He did stage some of the stuff though so it will be ready to connect. Now that I'm thinking of it, I'm not even sure what he needed the PVC glue for since we were working with PEX... LOL.

Dropped him off back at home. His gf gave me some socks with llamas on them. Someone gave her a bunch of socks and she gave the pair to me. I hung out with her for a little bit while he ran with a friend to do something but I had to get back to feed mom. The gf is trying a lot harder to spend more time & interact with the baby and she's doing a better job of cleaning. Poor thing had a cold though.

I got home, cooled off (if it's over 75 I get overheated & it was in the high 80s), ate a Whopper, and then cleaned up in the kitchen until my arm noped out on me.

2 sections high isn’t bad. At three you can start to feel them move a bit. Anything above that and I could squeeze a copper washer into a penny.

My neighbor has cows. They’re very social creatures. They follow me all over whenever I go over there. I don’t have enough land for cows but if I did I believe I would have some. Something got my last chicken so now all I have is a pissed off rooster which is kinda entertaining.

@havasu It sucks having to put an animal down but I think you should get another one because the joy they bring you far outweighs the pain of having to say goodbye.
