Most of the issues around here with not honoring the joint, end up with little cracks along the length of the joint. Most of it is or should I say has been, VCT. It takes many years to develop. We've been lucky to not have climate change here on the coast. When it gets into the 90s around here it rarely lasts more than 3 days. I've seen a hundred here a few times in my life. 15 years old years ago I think we had 101 and the following day was 93 to 95 something like that. Then it went back into the normal low '70s.
I would truly hate living somewhere where there was actual weather.

We do not usually have weather but it was a good 15° Celsius hotter than average and in the span of 2 or 3 days and it lasted for about 3 days so that extreme prolonged heat was what ate it alive. I do live on the coast, on an island even and well... we got hammered.

I get control joints and the whole "never install over them" but let's face it, it's done every day again and again and rarely does it come back like this. Especially 4 months later.

I am going to apply for federal relief. I think it is appropriate.

I’m surprised you don’t have something about that in your contract. Technically it’s not your problem but we all know how the game is played. Hopefully you have a good enough relationship with the GC and will be able to bill for it.

I just fixed it because I am a nice guy (sucker). I refused to open them seeing as there is no replacement material incase something went wrong and im not going to eat that floor for something that is not my fault.
I say I came away feeling good and that is enough for me.

As long as you’re happy then it’s all good. I haven’t worked in about a month and the more I think about situations like this the less I actually want to work anymore. I’m happy so it must be all good, right.

So today I became a victim of climate change..... or something.

Why is it that when your concrete heaves at a saw cut that was filled with elastomeric epoxy not less... and causes your concrete to buckle and shift and makes a bubble in the flooring, it's somehow my problem?

We had historic temperatures a few weeks back and would you believe these showed up right after? weird!

So, alas, I have now fallen prey to the effects of climate change, for shame.
A local store offered a lifetime warranty. I repaired several carpets that had been down 20 years.

I have a fun little game i like to play in flooring called "what would another trade say" under the rules of this game this scenario would sound like this.....

"Hey painter, my kids drew all over my walls and the paint looks shitty, what are you going to do about it"

Of course that guy would give the old middle finger salute to said home owner, but here in the wonderful world of flooring well... we rush off to save the day. Maybe the more I think about this the less happy I am lol.

Talk about a bad day. I had some shrubs removed from the front of my daughters house[my] and today my stepson came to help remove the stumps. Hooked onto it with a tow strap and after 3 or 4 pulls the stump came out traveling about 70 feet through the air and bang right into the side door of the daughters car. Nice dent into the door of her new to her car Now it is to find out who covers it, homeowners or car insurance. SHIT!!!!!!

Ain’t nothin a plunger can’t fix😝.
I’m sure glad it was a car door that stopped the stump instead of a person. That wouldn’t have been pretty.

And nobody had the camera rolling did they? Might have been able to have America's funniest videos pay for it. 😁

There's something to be said about chains.

Isn't that really a bad day for the insurance company?

Apparently you're covered.

Gonna be hell raised when I tell the daughter it comes under her car insurance-comprehensive, kind of like getting a rock in the windshield I guess.
I have $500 deductible so yeah, that kinda sucks. THEN they raise your premiums! Body shops are like the health care industry in that they're milking the shit out of our economy through the insurance rackets. Comprehensive is optional if you own the vehicle free and clear. When I drove a 25 year old small truck with 250K miles in beat to shit condition it made ZERO sense to pay Comprehensive/Collision premiums. We own two basically brand new vehicles free and clear but we HAVE to pay for "full coverage" because auto body repairs are so OBSCENELY corrupted by the insurance rackets.
