I haven't been outside yet to see the temperature. It's nice and cool with the fans blowing on me-- but not too cold. My cats are enjoying the new box that got opened.
One of the cats keeps knocking my speakers down so I'm going to have to velcro them in place. According to WTForecast it's 88° cloudy, humidity 62. Heat index 96°.

I did some touch-up paint on the wall cabinet at my friend's house yesterday. Also, someone put something on the butcherblock that stained it. Some kind of can that left rings. I tried sanding it off but realize I'm going to have to sand the entire thing more forcefully and just do a new coat of the sealant and that he will need to have some sort of mats down. Either that or I can look for food safe shellac to put on.

My brother was very happy about the undermount paper towel holder that my friend put up for me on the underside of one of the wall cabinets. He said it's in the perfect spot. Cats can't reach it easily & it can't get knocked off the counter.

Shotblast off old 1986 cutback for new Stonhard epxy/urethane flooring. Same Chapel on the Navy base. This is the kitchen remodel. Again I supervise and inspect. Any chance I can help I would but it's 95 percent a one man operation once the areas is cleared and the equipment is running.

That looks neat!

I cleaned the hallway-- since my brother's room is full of trash, sometimes he track some of it out of his room in to the hallway. I discovered he started throwing trash in the pantry too. I also had an empty lunchmeat container fall on my head when I opened the fridge. I'm about ready to strangle him sometimes.

I will probably have to cook for my mom in awhile. I made her lunch a few hours ago but I'm sure she'll be hungry again. She wanted corned beef hash but my shoulder was bugging me too much. I'm also feeling exhausted for no apparent reason. I racked out for quite a few hours but started having arrhythmia and feel like I'm not getting enough oxygen. Mom's dog was growling and fussing so I started singing "shut the f*** up" to the tune of a Celtic song. He wagged his tail and climbed on my lap.

18 nails in a 5’ piece of base. Why?

When I first watched this guy that you are so bad I thought he was totally nuts.
He's relaxing to watch and he does a great benefit to roads and property. He just goes around unclogging drains. Sometimes they're mundane and in a street somewhere but usually they're under roadways like this one.
I don't know why but it's almost mesmerized hang of times and fun watching him work. Maybe she's an adrenaline junkie and I'm sure he had some pumping in this video.

Maybe there is still hope for this country. My 4th grade grandson's football team was honored before the start of the high school game. They went undefeated. He is huge compared to the rest, he is about 5' and 160 lbs.
Anyway, when the national anthem started, it got quiet. Everyone was facing the flag with hand over heart. Rural America still believes in this country.

Just a hallway.
When someone put an addition on this house I don't think they were thinking when they designed this hallway. I'm starting in the living room then panning left into a 10-ft by 16 ft bedroom, then a tiny closet, then a 12x 14 bedroom and a long closet and I turn to the other side there's one more closet and a bathroom doorway. This would have been a lot more enjoyable with a non softback carpet with fuzzy pile, apartment grade carpet with no pattern.
Oh well it turned out nice. I've double-tackstripped the entire job.
This soft back carpet trims and seems excellently. I did a test doing a head seam and the regular straight seam with the cool glide iron it worked great with the medium setting. With the medium and high settings the fleece was mostly burnt off of the backing but it did not burn the actual Actionback structure of the carpet. I've even used the medium setting on two head seams and the material didn't behave weird from the heat. This carpet row cuts like a freekin dream.
If you don't like Sean hannity then plug your ears. 😁. Hey, I'm new to this video stuff. 😉

Yesterday I took mom to the store & we visited my friend. Today I played around with sketchup trying to help a friend design her new kitchen layout. Budget is tight though. She wants butcherblock countertops, which are going to be a pain to seal.

It seems like it's hard to find accurate information on mental blocks.
Years ago I saw a study on bacteria and butcher blocks or wood cutting blocks. The plastic allowed germs to live longer because the wood has natural chemicals in it that kill the germs.
.....or make up your own version of the truth. 😁
Hell I don't know what true or not I've never had a butcher block countertop.
This might have accurate information and it might not.

Not a fun weekend. I decided to clone my C drive onto a solid state drive for better speed. Did it before without problems. This time the new drive wouldn’t boot. After all the failed attempts to repair, I just decided to wipe the drive and install windows clean. But it’s all back and I have the old drive to copy from.

Never been a fan of copying boot drives, always a clean install. Then again, I format about once every 3 months and am running my main on a pair of Raid 0 Samsung M.2 NVMe EVO 980's, mostly only because I can. Its silly how fast they are.

Wood countertops are definitely not maintenance free countertops so that should be taken into consideration. Anything that doesn’t ‘cure’ will require reapplication. How often depends on what you use.

Waterlox is tung oil and citrus something (thinner). Tung oil hardens and, that’s where the time factor comes in, and the citrus helps to allow it to penetrate deeper. Waterlox is food safe after it’s curing period. Walnut oil dries? but is all natural and is food safe. I used mineral oil on mine because it is the easiest to use and reapply. With all of them they work by filling the pores in the wood thereby ‘sealing’ the wood. Problem is wood does what wood does and will require frequent reapplication unless you use a poly sealer or something like that that truly seals the wood. Otherwise you can look at oil finishes as temporarily filling the pores of the wood.

I mention all this because my wife wanted all natural things in our house, wood countertops being one of them. Problem is she’s like the Tasmanian devil when it comes to the kitchen. What she really needs is some Formica countertops, that way she doesn’t have to worry about water spots n what not when she doesn’t clean up behind herself. Wood floors and wood countertops aren’t that much different and oil finished wood floors certainly are not maintenance free.
