Having skills is cool!
I fix my car, my tools, build stuff, fabricate stuff, fiberglass, weld... well you get the idea. The one skill I determined I do not have is tinting car windows.... tried that and failed so bad. Paid someone to do it and was never happier.

I'd love to have a welder to play with. My tastes are too expensive. I'd want to start out with a $1500 welder.
Mark! It looks great! What did you use to seal the butcherblock? Another friend of mine got butcherblock countertop that I'm going to seal. We are working on designing her kitchen layout. My other friend that got butcherblock already needs his sanded off and sealed again bc his gf put wet metal cans on it while it was still curing & it stained it.
I went to Sams to get water and groceries. Popped in to see the friend who is renovating her kitchen. It's in a trailer so not much space- and the deadbeat tenants that rented it absolutely destroyed the place. It had been so nice before but these crackheads really did a number on it. Ruined the floors, somehow burnt up most of the outlets, painted the walls dark colors, broke a bunch of stuff, and left graffiti all over. Not sure when they are getting new cabinets but I offered to paint them. She wants a retro look. Has a Galanz bright red retro refrigerator. She wants the sort of diner black & white look on some of the walls. We may have to paint them with a pattern since she wants pops of yellow, red, and other colors. I got some more measurements so I will have to revise some things. I didn't realize there was a wall in a certain spot (she essentially drew measurements on scrap paper). I got some pics & will be working on it more in sketchup. The ceilings are only 7' high (I think lower in some spots) so there is not much head room.

I havent dont anything yet because they are pre sealed, or whatever you want to call it.. but I have every intention of using howards butcher block conditioner and then howards feed and wax, or just mineral oil.

That’s what I use. Do yourself a favor and just order a gallon of mineral oil for your first and second seasoning because your countertops will drink that stuff up. $20 for a gallon vs $8 for 12 oz. Then there is the wax/ oil mix and that stuff is good too I think that’s the conditioner. I went a step further cus I’m crazy but I ordered Howard’s countertop wax and damn near buffed my countertops to a shine. It’s kinda like polishing the silverware before company comes over.
Good morning. Hemoglobin is back to normal. No blood tests for 4 months. Today was my 9th blood draw and I have had 3 infusions in about 2 1/2 months.

I had 3 teeth drilled & filled today. Numbing hadn't quite kicked in yet when the dentist first started but I'm used to it not working well so I didn't complain. She's very sweet & kept being encouraging. Saying things like "doing great" and thanking me for holding so still. I almost fell asleep at one point. I think it's possible that something irritating the top teeth was causing the pain in the lower since there is a connected nerve in the area. She prescribed some mouthwash and toothpaste that are supposed to help. I dropped off the slips at the pharmacy & will pick them up tomorrow. Main downside is that my cheek and gums got scraped up-- but it will heal. She was worried I would be in bad pain afterward. I didn't even need painkillers after having my tooth pulled. This is minor compared to the soreness after having braces tightened. LOL. And that was nothing compared to the nerve pain when I needed the tooth pulled. That tooth pain was worse than kidney stones.
My cats have been misbehaving today. Namir got out of the front room and started howling at Gravy Jones this morning. I got him back in to the front room when I was leaving. Doors popped back open somehow and he got out again. When I got home he got into a knock-down-drag-out fight with Gravy and was losing bigtime. Gravy was biting as hard as he could and I had to shove them apart with my feet. Gravy kept turning around wanting to fight more. I started nudging Namir toward the front room but he still wanted to get a piece of Gravy so I had to push him farther. So he got mad and started attacking my leg and foot. I kicked a box at him to shove him through the doors. He was still pretty mad. Growled at his poor sister, Temjin when she came up.
Afterward Gravy was agitated and picked a fight with his sister Aminatu. Then Biscuits was mad at Gravy because he likes Aminatu. My bare foot got in the way at one point so now it has some nice scratches.
I love my cats, but sometimes they can be a-holes.
For now I'm resting and cuddling with Rupert.

Tornadoes
You ALWAYS need the narcotics man, ALWAYS. That way when you really need them, you have some at hand. That is how I built up my supply of hydromorphone. Always say yes, then never use them unless you need them. There are days I probably shouldn't legally drive, but ill be there doped to the sky laying floors because of back pain.
Gas jumped from $2.99 to $3.69 today.
I gave my pain pills to the warehouse guys. Sure did wonders for speeding up my load outs in the mornings.
My lower back occasionally acts up now n then but I find that stretching does wonders. Funny thing is I never hurt while I’m working. It’s always a couple hours after I’m done that things start to stiffen up. Maybe I just need a 30’ burritoed up cut of soft back at the house to pick up and carry around when I get sore.You know that workin for retired people always has me finding pills on the floor. Sewing needles too.
I quite literally (figuratively) just pissed in my pants over this. It made me laugh really hard man and the worst part is that it almost does not sound like a stupid idea because I would tend to agree that while I am painfully abusing my body, I feel fine and only when I dare to stop slaving away for the day does it catch up with me.
The worst thing is when you have a long drive after workin and your body stiffens up in the driver seat. When you finally get home and open the van door you just about fall out cus nothing on your body is moving right and then have to struggle trying to make it to your front door. I chug gatorades during the day to stay hydrated and that helps. Tequila at night helped but that always gave me some nasty heart burn the next day… until I drank more tequila.
Wait until you quit working. You lose your strength and hurt all over.
Why you think I’m still workin. Lol. That and my wife makes me buy my own toys and damn I’m expensive. I was lookin at a S&W 1911 the other day so now that’s been added to the list.
