Zan, I would be willing to run some Cat6A down to you but apparently it is around 4300 Km and with a range of only 100m... we would need a lot of signal boost :)

I know I am kicking a dead horse here, but I cannot believe that there are people in the 1st world still suffering with such bologna internet. I am not kidding when I say I am upset that I cannot get gigabit internet. No lie. It is because I live out in the sticks and that is that but at least I do not suffer like you do.

I just finished building my 8 year old her first PC. I pulled an old 500GB western digital caviar blue spindle out of cold storage (my shed) to use as her main (only) drive. Well, after chrome took 3.7 seconds to load I told my 8 year old on her birthday that daddy needed to work on her computer and she would not be able to use it for a bit. I sacrificed my 60GB sata III patriot pyro out of my main rig (I didn't need it, I am running raid 0 NVMe M.2 500GB 970 evo's) and proceeded to format and put that bloody spindle drive back where it belongs. As storage :p
Let me know if ya got a spare PC with windows XP Pro laying around. 😉 My Canon film scanner won't work with Vista or 10. I hate "progress" 🤬

I got tired of my wife bitching about her phone so now she has an I-phone 13. They had a good deal on trade in of her old one. It had went up about $300 from a couple weeks ago. I'm closing down my business on the 31st and have some extra jingles in my pocket so I sprang for the difference. Have to empty the bank acc't.

I had XP home and got Win7 Pro to be able to run XP mode. Have you tried using "run in compatibility mode" on the software and selected XP?
Didn't work for Photoshop 5.0 for me sadly. I do like the new Paint 3D on win10.

The slowness was not the computer-- it was the phoneline being crappy. My thieving neighbor tampered with the box to add extra lines to his house. One time I picked up the phone to make a call and heard him talking. I reported it to the phone company but it took them years to fix it. But all they do is patch. They have not run new lines. If we get heavy rains/floods it covers the boxes on the road and short out the wires so our service goes out. Right now there is something wrong with the line but not sure what. Friend thinks its on the phone company's end but we need to test the lines at my box. Need a special tool to open the box though.

I finally finished cleaning the toilet. It's sparkling but man did that suck. I resorted to using toothpaste so it wouldn't smell so bad when I had to get my face close up. I had to sit on the floor bc it hurt my back to bend. Couldn't find the toilet brush so I resorted to using lysol wipes by hand. That water was sooo cold!

Besides baking the cookies, I did the laundry, worked on the car, walked the dog three times, went to two stores. Some days I get so bored I will volunteer to do everything. Tomorrow, after I pick up my stepson at the bus stop, I have some toys to drop off at a toy giveaway for children. We have a local woman who drives her Model A, with a trailer behind it and gives toys away.

It has been 18 days since I contracted covid, but still have no sense of taste and smell. Since food just doesn't seems appealing, I have been using 2 cans of soup (low calorie Progressive) which is working great for my weight loss as well. Mama has been craving a big ol' Rib Eye so I BBQ'ed her a 1 1/2" thick Rib Eye last night. I had a bite, but with no taste, I'd rather have my soup.

Maybe even a Lilly Tomlin style phone system.
See if you pass that age test. 😉
One ringy dingy, two ringy dingy, snort. I remember when I was little and the box phone hung on the wall when the ring told you if it was a call for you. Also going through the operater to make a call. In grade school we lived on a party line and used to get 4 or 5 of us on the phone at a a time.
Really her phone wasn't working right and it was like 6 years old, so a time for a upgrade.

What do those fancy expensive phones do that a $400 phone won't do?

I used to have an iPhone 6. It was maybe 4 or 5 years old and the battery wouldn’t hold a charge for very long so I went to the phone doctor and had dude put a new battery in for $60. That bought me maybe another year but eventually it was time to get a new one since that one was old and outdated. I didn’t need all the new fancy crap just the new brains. I ended up getting the iPhone SE cus it was $400. Couldn’t bring myself to dump 1K on a damn phone since all I do is watch porch repair videos anyway🤪. The wife has a laptop if I need a real ‘puter.

I got the same phone, because I was told they wouldn't do anything with my flip phone. Been almost a year and I still can't work it. Dumb and dumber I am I guess.

My brother got my dad his first smart phone and as far as my dad is concerned it’s nothing more than a door stop. I went to cricket and got him a $50 flip phone and I’ll be darned but he actually likes that phone. It’s one of them where you gotta keep pressing the button to get a,b,c,1 etc. It will take you an eternity to enter names n such but he can actually figure it out so problem solved I guess. Now I just gotta get him trained to not return missed calls unless he knows the number or they left a message.

Switched from Total Wireless to Cricket. Got a free moto g play phone. Does everything. $40 a month unlimited everything. I seldom use a phone, I do forums and movies on my 17" laptop.

When my flip phone died a couple of years ago I decided to upgrade to a "real" phone. My life has changed for the better.

Today I finished up about 2k sq ft of glue down lvp. All corridor's! That was a challenge corralling the flock's of people trying to get where they wanted to go. The toys for tots program occupied one of the suites and to say they were swamped is an understatement. It really opened my eyes as to how many underprivileged family's are in my area. Box truck after box truck full of toys coming in and going out with families. I wanted to grab a pic of the mountains of toys/games etc. But didn't want to make anyone uncomfortable taking pictures. Really cool to know there's places like that so no kids have to go without a present for Christmas.

I'm glad that one's done though! Tomorrow I have a few odds and ends to take care of. Should be a nooner and then the work boots are going on the shoe rack for a few weeks! I'm ready for a break, for sure!

Today I realized it was a mistake to ever learn the fine art of flash coving, integral coving, border coving or for that matter how to heat weld.
Slammed in 70 yards of Altro walkway 2.0 from ground zero so prep, cap, tape.... and flashed 140 lineal feet, 12 v-plugs and 6 inside miters. Tomorrow, I get to do it all again so I can turn around and weld it all. Wish me luck, I am racing against the clock for Christmas.
.... after Christmas you ask, well I don't wanna talk about that right now ;)
