Today I realized it was a mistake to ever learn the fine art of flash coving, integral coving, border coving or for that matter how to heat weld.
Slammed in 70 yards of Altro walkway 2.0 from ground zero so prep, cap, tape.... and flashed 140 lineal feet, 12 v-plugs and 6 inside miters. Tomorrow, I get to do it all again so I can turn around and weld it all. Wish me luck, I am racing against the clock for Christmas.
.... after Christmas you ask, well I don't wanna talk about that right now ;)
That's amazing. I'd love to see you in action. Thats a lot of work.
....I said watch, not help. 😉

It make for a long hard day of the not always best one can do kinda work.

You want a 300 yard kitchen installed in 3 days with 340 feet of cove and umpteen billion corners and you wont turn it over until 72 hours before you need it back.... well you get my "its good enough if you don't turn the lights on" kinda work. I feel a little sleezy sometimes but what can you do.

I also found out the hard way that complaining that it is too cold at 9.2 degrees Celsius results in a 60 000 BTU blast furnace running non-stop which results in the same space, 24 hours later being 47.2 Celsius. I gave up and just put it in. There is only so much arguing that I can be bothered to do any more. If people want to do stupid things after I tell them how stupid those things are well you know what, who am I to stop you.

Just put xp on a virtual box on your pc. These things can be done.

Might not be the best instructable, but I am much too lazy to go hunting. This gives you the rundown
I don't know if I could do that it doesnt have a dipstick or a Quadrajet. 😉
I don't know if the PCs motherboard, processor or the HD went south. My only internet is my phone, so nothing virtual is possible. I'm sure someone locally has one gathering dust, but I haven't looked around.

Man, the smell of warm baked cookies sounds much better than nearly freezing toilet water. LOL. I wish our oven worked. I love cookies. Makes me miss my friend, Jeanne, who passed away earlier this year. She made the best chocolate chip cookies. She also made some sort of christmas cookies. Same dough as chocolate chip but it had those fruit chunks from fruitcake instead of chips and had some pecans as well.

I'm not going anywhere for the holidays. I'm expecting my area to get slammed with Omicron. Already got slammed with the first two forms. Funeral places were very very busy. I'm thinking of taking my laptop into the living room because its very cold (for me) in here right now. Bc of the broken window its not keeping heat in. So much warmer in the living room.

I picked up mail and cooked for Mom. That was about it. I need to do some cleaning but it's so frickin' cold. Allergies have been overwhelming my medicines. I really need to clean up dust. There's a ceiling fan in the kitchen I need to turn off but I can't reach the pull and if I turn it off at the switch it shuts off all the light.

We did a test where we shut down all of our computers and put our phones on airplane mode. ISP claimed we loaded 10gb last night while stuff was shut off. Gonna have to call them and ask what the hell is up with that.

I can't wait to get a new ISP.

My first cellphone was a razr v3 flip phone. Got a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 when the razr wouldn't charge anymore. I think in 2016 or 2017 I got the Note 4 because the digitizer in the Note 3 stopped working properly (meaning it wasn't responding to touch). Note 4 is going slow, is no longer supported, battery drains fast, and it can't load some apps bc it's too old. But I don't want to get a new expensive phone. The new flip ones look neat but they don't have an SD card slot, overheat, and are over $900.

Mom just paged requesting food.

Bored at 1am. What to do, what to do? ......ever wonder whats inside an old flip phone? Tis (was) a Trac phone without that bulky camera. 😁 Battery has a bar code and numbers. The code ends DC100113 Guessing thats Oct 1st of '13
Amazing how you could buy one of these for 20 bucks or thereabouts. Fascinating how they can make tiny electronic parts and solder them into a high tech device that literally functions for eternity.
Here's the tiny connection plug and socket that connect the screen to the keypad. I was even able to click it back together.
I facinate pretty easy. 😉
....note to self:
Don't take a nap after dinner. It makes you wide awake past 1:30am.

Tom has the right idea, heck with work! The wife n I are heading to Vegas tomorrow. Gonna spend Christmas with my kids there. Should be fun.
Now that's what I'm talking about!!!

I freaking love Vegas! Haven't been in almost 10 years because I have a young kid. So Disney it is.

You staying on the strip or with family? Watch your ass around there. Lots of professional thieves and con men around. Last time I went another couple came with the wife and I. Good solid small town folks that were blind to the hustle and "real world". The poor guy got burned from a con man/team for around $500. One guy distracted him bumming a smoke while the other pressed the cash out button on his machine and stole his ticket. They robbed him and cashed out in less than a minute. Lol. That was on freemont st (old Vegas) seedy Vegas.

But I hope you have a good time and get some much needed R&R man. I'm sure you're about as ready as I am to ditch the work boots for flip flops!

You laughing at me or the ancient technology? Kind of hard to believe that resistors and transistors used to be so big. 😁

I knew a guy who set up the first defense dept. computer. It was as big as a small barn.
Which brings up a funny story. I met this guy when we were doing craft shows. He was wearing bib overalls and a flannel shirt. He had no running water on the farm or electricity on the farm. I thought he was a hick... I said Maynard, what did you do before you retired? He programmed the original computer for the nuclear weapons program in Almagordo, N.M.

I dunno, my friend looks like a meth-head because his teeth were busted out in a wreck and he can't seem to put on weight. He's got a crazy metabolism. LOL.

Yeah, I remember having to take apart the 486s in my Electronic Engineering class in college. The old style programming (RPG, RPG II, COBOL) sucked as-terisk. RPG= Report Program Generator. COBOL= Common Business Oriented Language. Mom learned how to do COBOL on punch cards in college (she graduated a year before keyboards came out). She got her degree in computer science but is terrible with computers.

Mom is freaking out because she still hasn't been able to pull all of her accounts and stuff from Capitol One and they are changing all of the bank accounts and policies in January to give less interest and to do some other stuff (she was freaking out so she wasn't making much sense)- something about them converting savings to things where they can invest the $ how they want- gamble with her $. She has been trying to transfer all of her incoming pay to another bank to get away from CO but she's not sure how and she's been procrastinating.

I've been feeling crappy the past few days. Had arrhythmia last night. Think I might have a cold. My brother has a bad head cold right now. I slept in and then played around with image collages. Trying to figure out what stuff I will have in my bathroom when I get it renovated. I have a larger list of stuff than I'd thought. LOL. Will have to find storage for it all. I'm thinking of adding a little storage bench seat or something in my bathroom. I might have to make one though because mdf doesn't do well in damp areas.

Went to practice whale 🐋 watching. To windy and too wavy between rain periods and besides, the whales don't start passing by for 4 more days. Global warming hasn't changed their annual travel plans..... they don't listen to the news. 😉

Merry Christmas everyone!!!!

Just finished presents with the wife and kid......she went overboard!!!
Oh well, only once a year.

Hope everyone has a great holiday and has a well deserved break. Eat and drink until you can't button your pants 🤣.

Strange thing on the weather yesterday. They're❄️ predicting one to three inches of snow along the Oregon coast. The chances of 3 in are quite slim❄️ but they seem set that we are going to have at least ❄️some snow Sunday morning into Monday. ❄️ That don't happen ❄️here very often.
..... Now, would that make it a white Christmas past, for a past Christmas present? I'm not working on Monday anyway so who cares.
