Happy Holidays!
Oh man, I forgot to watch the launch. Woke up late because I've messed up my sleep schedule. Still got a sinus headache and am not feeling great. I could be a lot worse though. I'm mostly tired. I just took my meds and am hoping the naproxyn will reduce the headache. Need to wait about an hour before I can eat.

Phone line got fixed so we can make calls again. Might call some aunts and see how they are doing.

My mother thinks NASA is a waste of $ but I keep explaining to her that it's the source of much technological innovation that translates in to real world benefits. Many inventions for astronauts have become things that benefit the world.

I'm not planning on doing anything or going anywhere today.

Ask her if she likes a microwave?

Everyone talks about global warming and I'm concerned about global cooling. It its chilly out so outside.
Here on the Oregon coast, we get measurable snow about once every 15 to 30 years.
In 1969 it was 24 in. That was the most disastrous snow storm to ever hit the entire state, so that's probably never going to happen again.
In 1988 or 89 we got 11 inches of snow and then the temperature stayed below freezing for over a week, even during the daytime highs. Normally in the same run January the high would be closer to 45°, maybe more
That, I doubt, will ever happen again in my lifetime. Below 26 is freaky here.
Once in awhile we get a half an inch or an inch and a half of snow just long enough for it to melt.
Right now we got a really weird storm system coming in and the weather departments all say we're going to have one to three inches and the probability of 3 inches is extremely low.
........well, whatever it is has started and it's not supposed to start till tomorrow night. The deck has a half inch of hail, sleep, grumble, crumble or whatever the hell they call on it now, and it's coming down pretty heavy. I don't know if we might even have an inch and a half before the snow is supposed to start falling tomorrow afternoon.
I know everybody thinks we're real wussies over here on the West Coast but we don't have weather over here. We have warmish, normal and chillish. Yup, that's our temperature range.
If someone says there's a snowflake falling out of the sky, we just doseedo towards he bomb shelter and that's just the way it is here. 😁
If you have serious snow once every 20 years, you don't invest $10 million in snow plows and gravel..... We don't, .......so we don't. 😉

Welcome to our world.

It was in the upper 60s to low 70s today. I got my booster shot and picked up groceries. Cooked some potato soup. Been having arrhythmia since last night (prior to the booster). It's annoying and I feel like I'm not getting enough oxygen. I was going to try to clean some today but I need a nap first.

The young couple I said that moved here from California. This is their car. They drove around Christmas eve and Day and gave out over 200 toys.

Man, that sounds cold, Highup. It was actually warm today. Low 70s. I made potato soup and went to get my booster shot. Couldn't sleep last night because I knew I had to get up early. Racked out after I got home and fed Mom. Arm is sore to the touch- same as last time, but it's minor. Got it in my left arm this time bc my right arm still isn't healed from rotator cuff/deltoid injury. Right arm hurts more than the left. Shot was completely painless. I wish all shots were like that. I'm due to update my Tetanus shot. At least I've never had to get the "peanutbutter shot".

Argued w/ my brother about human female reproduction organs. He was being so pompous and arrogant about it. Claims he has a better education than me. Which is hilarious because he flunked out of college 3x, only passed certain classes bc I helped him, and I'm the one with the degree. Also, I had motivation to look up the issues he was discussing due to it affecting me personally so I knew about it. (He was claiming women grow more eggs as we get older). I'm sure that later he will be bragging about how I thought women grow more eggs after birth and that he had to "correct" me about it later. So I told my mother and friends ahead of time so when he tries to pull that they will know he's full of it. He tried to pull that after I had to explain terminal velocity to him. He was spouting words like "fluid dynamics" without understanding what the hell he was talking about. LOL.

I had an idea for a future build for decor and function (if I can find space). A Catmas tree. Cat tree designed to look like an Xmas tree with cat toys attached to it as the ornaments. I told one of my friends from high school about it and he loved the idea. I should sketch up a design for it at some point. But I need to reinstall Sketchup on this laptop.

I still need to go take my friend some naproxyn and bring my desktop over to see if a new video card will keep it running or if I need to gut it. Another friend gave me a computer (without hard drives) but it is massive. I want something smaller that can be carried more easily. But I'm hoping my current one can be salvaged. The motherboard in the new one is too large to fit in a mid tower like mine.

I saw a very cool Azza pyramid tower case but it's $400.

WTF does fluid dynamics have to do with terminal velocity?
Also, how could one ever get into an argument about terminal velocity... name literally implies what it is. What is there to argue about??

Also, I love you!! So many days your musings put a smile on my face and a chuckle in my gut.

When Zan decks her brother, at the instant he hits the floor, that's terminal velocity. When he pees his pant immediately after, that's fluid dynamics.

We were discussing the penny dropping from the Empire State Building thing (not sure how it came up). He was saying that the penny would keep accelerating as it fell. He threw in the term "fluid dynamics" because he didn't have a clue what he was talking about and was trying to bullshit me. I then had to explain to him what terminal velocity was and how it works- so the penny would reach terminal velocity while falling and maintain that speed the rest of the way down.

Thanks, MarkB! Anytime I can make someone laugh is good.

I made Mom happy with the potato soup. She had 3 servings of it. Texture is weird but the flavor is good.

Tomorrow I need to schedule Mom for her booster shot and pick up mail.

I keep seeing that the Y-Not-Stop is progressing in construction. I hope they get good people to run it. It's taking over where the hardware store used to be. They moved closer to Walmart and have a better lot now. The Y-Not-Stops in other areas have decent food. My brother is thinking of applying for a job there.

I found a Catmas tree for sale-- for the low low price of $2,625. Sheesh. It's $45 for the booklet with the plans for the smaller $850 version. I think I'll come up with my own plan. Might make it out of cardboard initially.

My cow came over to see me when we were unloading groceries so I got out the brush from Tractor Supply and brushed her. She likes having her face brushed.

I'm about to try to get some sleep for the night.

In the last 24 hours the temperatures only changed about 3°. We're between 33 and 34. That's not all that unusual especially now through January.
This is a little different from normal.
I put food out on the railing for the birdies. Instead of swarming me a little piles of bird seed just sat there getting covered up. I guess they're not big fans of the snow.
I went outside a second time and now you can hear them chirping in the background

Cant remember if I posted about this or not... my mind is not what it once was.

Anyhow, I managed to finally fulfill a life long dream of mine and that is to pick up a set of Lace Sensor Golds for my 1977 Northern II (Kasuga) 1977 strat copy. She was the first guitar I ever fell in love with and the first one I ever owned as well and me and that guitar have been through a lot together. Well the day finally came that I saw fit to order up these bad boys and my oh my are they wonderful.

I have a little bit of electrical I want to work out on it still, but everything works. The pups are only wired 1-2-3 on a 3 way so there is nothing there to blend them, but that will change. I want to add a mid boost and switch out the mini-pots for full 250k and change out the old capacitor for a newer 0.22uF orange drop. Maybe change out the tone pots for bi-s and wire something a little different all together on a secondary loop.

Anyhow... the thing sings like she always dreamed about and I could not be happier. It does pay to hold on to your dreams even if they are small and become forgotten for a time, they are always there waiting.

Had to do a bit of cut out to the old pick guard to get them to fit but no harm no foul. All went well
