A few years ago was sent to lay new vinyl in a bathroom, apparently first builder refused to go there so they had to get another to replace the floor of which I never saw. It was a house for a prison officer which I presumed was rented as the whole village are prison houses as they were built for the prison staff
Who would live in this mess then get trades men to come and do work?

That’s exactly what I’m talkin about. There was a HD job the Mexicans refused to do and walked on that I had to go inspect. You know HD, that turned into a 911. When I got there there was **** n piss everywhere. On the carpet, on the walls, just everywhere. Looked like someone bent over and sprayed the place with their butt after taking a colonoscopy prep kit. Kinda disgustingly impressive. I took pictures and told the store we weren’t touching that job period. The customer said her son was gonna clean things up and could we be back there tomorrow. I told them that filth was a biohazard and it was gonna take more than some 409 and paper towels to clean that mess. Luckily we never heard back. Pretty sure they got a refund and went somewhere else.

Trucker shared a fork lift (boom ) trick with the nephew yesterday. Lets see if you Know , or can figure out what the tape is for ?

Dropped my van off at the shop today. The heat killed another battery. Got 5 years outta this one so I can’t be too upset.

That Canadian wagon I bought the battery didnt even last two years before it died, at least it was replaced under warranty. When you bought a product the original battery seemed to last for years but nowadays the ones you buy dont last

Batteries are only guaranteed for two years here so I’m happy with getting what I got out of mine. Milder climates will usually give you a longer life but it gets damn hot here and heat kills batteries. It’s mid 90’s today and that’s not even hot yet so I guess I’m glad I’m getting it taken care of now.

Offloading pad? Or other 6? Goods? That way when you’re pulling them off the truck you don’t stab what’s behind it.
Nope 👎 😜.... when the trucking co. Loads the carpet almost to the roof, not allowing enough clearance to off load, the tape adds resistance inside the core tube to remove the carpet, even though it’s dragging against the bottom carpet.....it’s magic 😜

I went out to a job done 3 years ago, LVP, end joints separating in the hall, and 3 boards with chipped corners to replace. I've got a pretty good system down, I really struggled with replacements, but not any more. The hall way was easy, a little glue in the gap, and a little tap tap. Done. I like the problem solving part of doing the repairs. The shop takes care of these issues, no charge to the customer.,
Tuesday I drove into Sacramento to pick up material for a couple jobs that came up short, 90 miles 1 way. I HATE the city, so happy to get back up and then drive up my Yosemite and finish up the wood job that was short. Pretty drive, very few idiots.
Tomorrow, I'm getting a tablet so I can have access to the estimation software and then next week get training on the system. Guess we will see if the old dog can learn a few new tricks. I keep remembering the tenements of the Peter Principle. " In a hierarchy, each man rises to his own level of incompetence, and stays there" This may be what does it,lol.

All right. Hemoglobin is back to normal...14.9
Thats good news Rusty
Got a phone call yesterday booking me in for a CT Scan on Monday of which would not be cheap. Second CT Scan I have had along with everything else with different "machines" I have had
I must be costing our health services heaps since early November. I reckon I have well and truly got a lot of my taxes back and it must be getting to the stage of me owing them. :)
I get NZ380 a week pension cause I am old. It must all add up to a large cost the government is paying out to me

We get social security here, what you get depends on what you paid in. For some people it is not much.

Good luck on the scan, Jon.

Jon I may be behind times, why all the tests and such?

Got lung cancer Daris. Too much smoking, concrete dust etc over the years
I feel fine but have pins and needles in the fingers and toes due to the chemo Also I get the wobbles when trying to walk. My hair is growing back so the chemo must be wearing off. From what I hear from others I have been very lucky as I havent been sick or anything else from the chemo

Unless your primary pension is with Public Employees Retirement system. I was suppose to get $1800 a month, but since PERS is my primary, I get $500. Quite unfair if you ask me.

Australia its means tested so you can only own so much before it is cut off
Here some say that while one is working one should not get the pension of which if they thought about it if those stop working the government would not be getting all that tax from their earnings, where in my case as a contractor the Goods and Services Tax I paid well and truly covered the pension money let alone the tax on the earnings. The Government is talking about lifting the age up a year or so as there are not enough young people being born to cover us oldies
