CJ, its humid here most of the year. It was cloudy and wet but not raining most of the day. Humidity 85%. The moisture clings to me. However, it is the quick-drying primer that is supposed to be done in 15min (from what I looked at online since I can't read the tiny print the can). I just checked back about 20min ago (had to drag a puppy inside because she was refusing to come in). While I was out I decided to go check and since I had a headlamp I rolled the pipe, shook the can for 2+ min and sprayed the rest of the pipe. Should be dry by morning. I wish I could find a rope long enough and place to hang it from.

I laid it over an old mattress that has the fabric torn off so it has springs sticking up that would take wet paint off. But it was fine when I carefully rotated it while dry. I'll have to do the same with the final coat. It took longer to shake the can than to paint the pole.

Don't know if I mentioned this on here. My cousin's daughter WAS an RN. After the vaccine, which was mandated, she passes out randomly. She can no longer work, or even drive. Her doctors attribute it to the vaccine.

Working on crazy sts 😳....here’s a question, I never used kool glide utility tape before, can you adhere a carpet tread to a steel riser with that tape ? and if so which side goes where 🤷🏻‍♂️....I’m not installing them but was just over thinking 🤔 it through

No idea on the carpet tape.

Just read that Gilbert Gottfried passed away. He had muscular dystrophy. I had a friend who died in his early 20s from that. It had him wheelchair bound in his teens. Brutal disease.

Around 4 something in the morning my brother told me our friend with the bad luck needed a lift home from the ER. Kidney stones again. My brother drove his car for him and we nervously watched as I followed from a distance behind. I got them some breakfast from McDonalds and we hung out for a bit. The woman he has a crush on came over to watch the baby while he was in the hospital. He gave more details on kicking his ex out. Said she had an absolute meltdown crying when he told her they were done and she had to get out. He said before he was worried she'd be out on the streets and die but now he realizes it's not his problem/responsibility. She made her own decisions and needs to live with the consequences.

But, my friend also said he has an enlarged prostate and was told he needs to see a specialist asap (sometime this week) to find out if its cancerous.

I was so exhausted when I got home I racked out and am trying to wake myself up more now. Didn't feel up to going out and painting. Too damp out there all day anyway.

It's already 74° with 85% humidity and cloudy sky. I went out to do touch-ups on the primer on the pole and to prime the mounting board. I'm pretty much soaked just from being out there even though its not raining.

I'm going to give it a few hours before I go back out to do the final coat.

The pups don't like the smell so hopefully they will stay away.

Orange cats are the best.
Orange you glad that cat wasn't yours.

I don't know if that much metal would damage the seaming iron.
I would be calling cool glide for that one. Gets kind of spendy if the iron starts smoking like a regular hot mild iron. 🫣

Thats good news Rusty
Got a phone call yesterday booking me in for a CT Scan on Monday of which would not be cheap. Second CT Scan I have had along with everything else with different "machines" I have had
I must be costing our health services heaps since early November. I reckon I have well and truly got a lot of my taxes back and it must be getting to the stage of me owing them. :)
I get NZ380 a week pension cause I am old. It must all add up to a large cost the government is paying out to me

The stuff they put into you to show stuff up on the scan made me go red and itch for two days this time, No side effects the first time I had it
They looked at the scan and I got a phone call 11am today back to hospital for MI Scan as there could be a lump on my spine Getting scan in the morning with maybe a radiation treatment
So we will see were we go from there otherwise I feel there is nothing wrong, just those wobbly legs
To make things a bit harder I am meant to self isolate as wife tested positive for covid even though she has had her 3 jabs I am negative so thats good

I think they inject you with radioisotopes or some sort of radioactive dye. It can cause metabolic disorders- thyroid issues-- sometimes. I had a friend in school who had a bad reaction to it. I had it a few times but no immediate reaction.
Jon, I hope that the lump on the spine is something benign.

I was watching Midsomer Murders with my headphones on when my brother tried to sneak up on me. Cats gave him away. It was dark and I saw the cat look at something, I looked and he was creeping his hand around to the front of my laptop. We both laughed and then chatted for awhile and ate breakfast. I took the pups out and fed them. Walked them a bit. Put a finishing coat of paint on the pole. Came out terrible. Dripped all over. But I don't care so long as the pole doesn't rust. LOL.

Orange cats were my dad's favorites because he had a very sweet orange cat when he was a kid. The cat would snuggle him and comfort him when he was sick. Mom's favorites are black cats. Her first pet cat ever was a black kitten. Her dad was allergic to cats so she didn't have any cats as a kid. First cat was about a year and a half after my parents got married.

I am partial to black cats and orange cats. I have to say tuxedo cats too since one of my tuxedo tabbies is staring at me right now.

I subd an apartment out and this is what I got 😡 .....I’m planning to back charge him ( not a fan of that practice ) but I guess it’s necessary. Took me 3 hrs to bring the job up to acceptability. Put in a saddle seam, trim loose yarns, and vacuum properly.

I did all the repairs for one shop. One "installer" did not own an iron. He made seams with a double row of tack strip. He only did one job for them.

Last job I looked at was 100 yards that was not stretched, just seamed, rubbed down and trimmed. The carpet went around a 90 degree corner into a sunken room. A hall had 7 doorways coming off it. Told them I wanted $100 an hour to do it and figured at least two days and it was full of furniture, They declined.
Found out the guy who did it was on meth.

That stuff they put in for the scan is called Contrast here
At hospital today they came and pulled my legs, bending them while holding them and kinda said not to bad as I could put pressure on them
Later guy came from Radiation Therapy to organize scan saying I might have to stay overnight Next news I got was I am going home we will ring you Tuesday due to staff and Easter
We had a nice blonde/ginger cat who never did any thing wrong

We had a cat for years "Demon". Loved her. When my DIL, who we hated came over, the cat would hiss and go after her. The cat was friendly to everyone else.

One year we were at Surfaces and they had a stand getting business cards, photos of their kids put onto tiles. We got Tessa the nice cat done
The guy doing it reckoned it was the first time somebody had a cat done

It was funny as I got it several years ago when the idea was new and I showed it to a guy who did glass He immediately went and Googled the product as he thought it would be great on the glass on the front door, showers etc.

MSLI I am having a phone call Tuesday to see when the hospital can book me in for that scan then we see where we go from there. Easter got in the way but I am glad the doctors and nurses can get a break as they are all very nice and over worked, how they put up with some patients who think they are in a hotel not a hospital surprises me. Yesterday I had to get some pills from the hospital pharmacy, Good Friday, a guy came in to order his pills while I was waiting and was told it would take 30 minutes. He told the girl loudly he could not fuuuung wait that long. If he had said that to me he would still be waiting

Playing with some Corian today. You know what that means… no knee pads! I lost my first bearing on a router bit the other day while I was routing out for a stove insert. Luckily the stove trim covers where the router dipped in a hair. Sure glad I wasn’t blasting around an undermount sink when I lost the bearing. So let that be a lesson, don’t buy cheap bits! Speaking of undermount sinks, I’ve got a porcelain undermount sink I’ve gotta do next week and I’m sweating it a bit cus I don’t want to crack the sink while I’m routing it out. Nylon bearing? Or how about one of them square bearings? Ooo what to do.

Just curious as to how many guys n gals out there do countertops? I know it depends on what part of the country you are in as to whether or not countertops are considered part of flooring but I’ve always liked doing countertops.

I do some countertops myself. As well as kitchen/bath remodels, window treatments.....

I just got a roll of Corian in today for a project down the road. Cabinets are around 2-3 months out from order time so I have some time to mess with it.

I also get a little freaked out routering for undermount sinks. Those will test your steady hand for sure!

I usually take the meat down to around 1/16" then get the rest out with a sharp chisel.

I did a 100 years ago when it was formica.

I like doing Formica as well. Always pissed me off when some half assed clown put the decks on as if it was rough framing expecting me to show up and turn water into wine. Not much different than having a customer do their own subfloor prep. It’s either gonna be gold or ****, not many in betweens.

For metal undermount sinks I just put some blue tape on the sink where the bearing rides. Works out great at protecting the sink from any bearing marks. Haven’t tried the nylon bearings yet but I think I would still protect the sink with some blue tape. Cheap insurance. That and I like triple flute bits for Corian.
