I lost my train of thought because the phone rang just before I was about to reply.
Rusty, I hope the infusions last longer this time around.
Highup, that looks like a hot mess to deal with to take that bump out of the floor. My mother's room has a bump in the floor that we can feel. I suspect some sort of support slipped and something is pushing up in that spot but I could be wrong.
Havasu, I love your pool.
My aunt Mary lives in Arizona and said it was 115°F out there.
Currently it's 91°F here, cloudly, and 56% humidity. I haven't been outside yet. Mom has an appointment at 3pm so I need to get up eventually. Been exhausted.
Took almost 3hrs to get to the wedding venue on Saturday. We made it to my sister's hotel room to change clothes and then gps for my truck got me lost trying to find the venue. Turned a 5min trip into 15min trip. Ended up being a little late. Then we spent another 5min trying to find the right door to get in to the megachurch. Finally found it and slipped in the back during the ceremony. Bride and Groom almost never took their eyes off of one another. Instead of turning to the officiator, they were looking at one another and holding hands most of the time. Officator had a good sense of humor, laughed nervously a few times, and after the rings were on they did communion and some other dude gave a speech. He kept fumbling his words but it wasn't a bad ceremony. I think it was about an hour. I mostly focused on watching my cousin's son and trying to spot family. I was sad to hear that my cousin's oldest daughter didn't come because her dad was invited. There is a mutual hatred between them. Pretty sure if she'd shown up he would have disrupted the wedding to scream at her, tell her she's going to hell, etc. Uncle told us we missed the prick giving a speech before the wedding where he took credit for planning/organizing the wedding and for how well the groom turned out. He didn't contribute a dime or anything to the wedding and the groom turned out well despite his hypocritical ***. Uncle was particularly annoyed about the prick quoting scripture and acting all pious. Dude is a liar, cheater, adulterer, and generally a scumbag. He my cousin and their daughters throughout the marriage. He was glaring daggers at my cousin and looking miserable during the mother-son dance at the reception.
As for the groom, my cousin's oldest son (2nd child), he's a very sweet and intelligent young man. He's in the Marine Reserves now and stopped at every table during the reception to sit down and talk to guests and thank everyone for coming. He stopped at our table more than once to talk with us and see how we were doing. The bride is also a sweetheart and very intelligent. She's about to start her residency for medical school. She had the idea to have a nerf gun battle during the reception and that was a lot of fun.
My uncle seemed very sad and lonely at the wedding and beginning of the reception, but he cheered up. There was one point when the wedding party was filing out of the church in pairs. Cousin went out with her fiance and then my uncle got up and no one was there to go with him (his wife passed in October) and he stood there looking for someone, appeared to say something to the air, and then sort of put his head down and walked out. It broke my heart. i wish I'd been close enough to jump up and go escort him. He's moving around very well considering he broke his hip in December.
Mom didn't use her wheelchair for the wedding but needed to use it for the reception. Trying to get through the buffet with her and still get my own food was a pain.
It was great seeing my cousin, meeting her fiance, seeing the 3 younger kids (who are now all adults) and meeting the bride's family. The bride's mother brought cake over for us after the groom cut the cakes with my uncle's sword.
We got tired enough to leave maybe 20min before the end of the reception and sat in the hotel lobby for a few minutes. Uncle came in and showed me his sword more closely. He talked about his old house in Clifton NJ and I asked the address. I pulled it up on street view and showed it to him. He said the roof used to have wood shingles and there wasn't a sidewalk there before.
I was exhausted so sister gave me her room key and I went up to take a nap. I think it was 11 or 12 when they woke me up to drive home.
Didn't get home until after 3am and I went straight to my bed and racked out.
Sunday we waited for sister to get in town to go hang out at friend's house. Stayed with her until after 11pm before going home again.
Monday I went to the store and took my friend to get a new battery for his car as well as some oil and a filter. Got him some donuts and cupcakes for his birthday, which is today.
Today I've been resting. Got a cat curled up on me.

TL: DR? I went to a wedding, had a bit of a family reunion, and have been running myself ragged. LOL.

The sec
Yeah, I always had to duct tape the hose to the edger so it wouldn’t come undone while I was edging.
The sections of hose are taped together, and one hose is always connected to the edger.
Somewhere I found a double ended female connector that holds on really well. It's a godsend on this job because I'm constantly disconnecting the edger to vacuum. The Craftsman vac sucks more than the edger blows, so because of that, the connection doesn't come loose.

I broke down a few years ago and bought a 20’ hose. In a small bathroom it’s too much hose and it’ll piss you off so you gotta leave the vacuum out in the hallway or some BS like that. If you’re edging or buffing thats when the longer hose is real nice. With the standard 7’ or 10’ hose the damn shop vac is always in your way or you’re tugging at it so you can move. I’ve pondered buying a 2nd 20’ hose. I’m sure I will when it’s time for me to refinish MY floors😁

Laying a floating floor up to metal cabinet frames. I’m dying laughing inside. Anyway I accept the challenge. I got a test piece and rabbited out the back side where it needs to be able to lap over the metal frame while still laying flat. Test piece looks good. Now I have my work cut out for me. Gonna be scribing for a couple days before I’m done. I’ll let you know how it turns out.

I have my hoses coupled because that way I can put the vacuum outside and still vacuum the whole living room in peace and quiet. 😁

This was the first time I cleaned my filter. I had emptied the dust deputy one time other than this. You can see how little is in the shop vac.
Looks like more floor patch dust made it through the deputy than wood dust.

I see you rabbited both sides. 👍😁
That looks 100x better than all that aluminum showing. 👍

So, the NP got mom's insulin pump setup but wasn't aware that the pump can't get her bolus info while the dexcom receiver is on. After much googling I found that I had to turn her dexcom receiver off. So the pump could detect her sugar and make adjustments. It will always ask before giving a larger dose, but she doesn't know how to click through the menu on the thing and the screen turns off after 2 seconds. It's incredibly annoying. On reddit they said we have to click the 1 2 3 buttons to make the screen stay on longer. Things seemed ok until she started yelling at me that the pump wasn't getting her bolus anymore and it turned out she turned her dexcom receiver back on. I had to turn it off. She did it again. I had to take it away, turn it off, and hide it. She's not happy about not having it because she likes it better than the pump. I went to read the manual for the pump but she took it away from me and hid it from me. Probably in retaliation for taking her dexcom receiver. The Tandem pump can work with the dexcom transmitter/sensor and a phone or device with the tandem and dexcom apps, but the transmitter can't handle sending data to two medical devices for some reason. I've heard Dexcom is working on improving the transmitter.

It may be a good thing that Mom is so inept with the electronic devices but it's also bad because she doesn't know what she's doing and messes stuff up. She managed to change the language on her receiver to Spanish and I had to google how to change it back to English so I could turn it off again. She also attempted to tell the pump to double the dose that the NP programmed it to dispense. It didn't seem to work. Unfortunately, in order for the app on my phone to link to her pump, it has to be within a few feet so I can't see it from another room and it takes about 15min to sync up. I couldn't sleep last night worrying about her messing things up with the pump. I'm also concerned that she may be ruining the insulin in the infusion tube because she has it under a heated blanket (she wrapped herself in a heated blanket last night). She refused to let me see what her sugar was this morning and is being pissy with me about stuff.

Meanwhile, two ceiling tiles dropped from the ceiling in the kitchen and were soaking wet. The wood is warping and water was dripping down. This morning I got a ladder brought in from outside and set it up to go through the access panel in the hallway but can't see past the ductwork and the roof height is not high enough to stand up in there. It's also very musty. I want to get gloves, a hard hat, and a respirator before I go back up there. I didn't climb all the way. I don't trust my balance on the ladder to get on and off of it and if I fall my brother would not hear me. He can sleep through walls being knocked down.

This is the space near the access panel. The ductwork blocks my view of the leak. I think the 2nd duct farther away may be over the leak. I noticed that I don't see ducts going to the bathroom vents. The disconnected metal duct was from a wood burning stove that the deadbeat tenants stole.

So, I'll have to crawl up in there and see if I can get over to the leak without getting zapped by loose wires or falling through the ceiling.

That was my test piece. Had to see what works before I start burning up material. I’m so tight on material that I’m using plywood blocks to lock my rows in place while I’m scribing. Usually I can sacrifice a plank and get 6 or 8 scab pieces out of it. It’s all good, I’ve got a few other things to do in this trailer before it’s done so if I get tired of scribing, I can take a break and do something else.

I’ve got the old countertop off and have beefed up the cabinets and have an under mount sink already in place waiting for some butcher block to go on top. You can see the cabinet is nothing more than a metal face frame and some 1/4” melamine panels for the sides. Can’t undercut anything to get a clean look. Surprisingly everything is in really good shape. Only one broken latch on a storage bay, that’ll get a magnet for a fix, and I had to make a new bathroom pocket door.

I know, I haven't harassed anyone for a while. 😁
