It's perfectly OK for the actors to disrupt a show by calling out an audience member, but not the other way around.

That's for the official photos. Doesn't sound like they Photoshopped anything.
The tabloids showed whatever they wanted, and they did. They aim for the voids and make it look even worse than it was. Nobody calls them out.

I have to agree that stopping the show to single out audience members they don't like is very wrong. That is not just ruining it for the person being singled out, but it's disrupting the experience for other audience members. Regardless of my opinion on who they called out, if they did that while I was there, I would demand the $ back for my ticket & leave.

Floorist, it's alarming how they dragged their feet on Merrick Garland for a year but now they are rushing through this thing with Kavanaugh. There is something hinky about that guy. I think there are plenty of good conservative/Republican judges they could have chosen, but they picked this guy. The lawyer who selected which of his files to release publicly is also his friend.
I do think the recent allegations do merit an investigation before moving forward-- it's only fair since they did it with Anita Hill & Clarence Thomas. If they find it's a nothingburger they can move on. But it's better to be safe than sorry. Maybe they can use some of the $ they got from Manafort's asset forfeiture to fund it.
Now, I'm not one of those people who thinks we should always believe a woman because she's female. I'm always wary when these types of allegations come out. I suspect the rush is to push him through before more women can come forward and speak out-- if any of them are willing to risk needing Witness Protection for the rest of their lives. I mean, one of Roy Moore's accusers ended up getting her house burned down.
All of the mental gymnastics to justify why it would be ok if Kavanaugh did attempt to rape her is just disgusting. It would be one thing if they had been kissing and he was too drunk to know when to stop, but pushing her into a room, turning up the music, and covering her mouth to keep her quiet sounds much more sinister. That shows some forethought and clear knowledge that they knew they were doing something wrong. (That's assuming her allegations are true). She seems credible enough. If a liberal/left-leaning candidate had the same allegations & same hinky finance issues going on, I would think they should be rejected too. This guy doesn't pass the smell test. Especially since he presented a letter with a list of names of black students from (I think Harvard) claiming they supported them & it turns out some of them never even met him & did not consent to having their names listed in his support. One of them is running for mayor of Shreveport and wrote a letter to Congress asking for his name to be removed or for it to be entered in the public record that he didn't want his name on the list.
On a side note, I wonder how hard Jeff Sessions is rolling his eyes at Trump's repeated attacks against him on Twitter.
