Yeah, without a doubt. No Second Amendment supporter would accept this, but how does one deal with a crazy shooter, with a closet full of weapons, who is destined to carry out a violent act? Take 2-3 months and appear in front of numerous judges in order to get a search warrant, execute said warrant within 24 hours, and have the report back on the judges desk within a few weeks? A psych can do all of the above with the stroke of a pen, so who failed?

Dude, you used the word "but".
So as an avid second ammendment rights advocate and LEO how would you like to handle the situation if a mentally disturbed person with an arsenal.
You can't have it both ways Hav.

You're both on the same page. Ya can't stop crazy. Pass 10 or even 2000 more laws and it won't make a difference.
Can ya stop a crazy person from dropping bricks from an overpass or dousing a high rise apartment lobby with gasoline?
..............nope. Ya can't stop crazy because they don't always act like they are. They act normal till they do some damage and makes everyone they know say WTF?
Can't stop em and never will.
Sad but life sometimes sucks that way.

There has been laws for the last 20 years that allow officers to remove the weapons from a mentally ill person, who talks of threats of violence against a person or persons, to remove all handguns and rifles from his possession immediately without the need for a search warrant. The big question is how and who deems the person mentally ill?

Well there is so much mental health care issues going on these days . Lots in the works i cant talk about.

Swalwell was joking but it was a very poor choice of words and he never should have said it. If a Republican had said something like that, the Democrats would be in an uproar. People really need to think before they open their pieholes.

Here it is, Nick. And the guy wants to be president.

Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell called for the confiscation of semi-automatic rifles in a USA Today oped on Friday.
Swalwell wants taxpayers to foot the bill using 15 billion of taxpayer dollars to do it.

Swalwell then says to prosecute those who resist.

Pretty sure his statement was taken out of context because the guy said there would be a war if dems tried to take away guns. Then yes, the military would bust your arse if you tried to start a war about it, depending on who is in office directing the National Guard.

But still, he was "an arse" for even going there. Politicians shouldn't even be joking about that sort of thing in today's climate. It's sad, but it's where we are right now.

Most of the military would not take up arms against Americans. My local sheriff would quit first, he always says that anyone who can legally carry, should carry.

The prince really should be put under Magnitsky Act sanctions. We should not sell arms to someone who would have a US resident tortured and murdered. But, the Saudis own Kushner & Trump does other business with them. They "invested" in some of his business interests.
Meanwhile, I heard the troops are going to be called back from the border now that the political stunt served it's purpose.
